When you think about what ComStar did during and after the succession wars they were a bit more like space AT&T sponsored by the NSA and CIA. Especially when you consider how far back they were holding technological development once the wars started dying down.

IIRC Tex has a history with depression, it's part of why he works so hard and still keeps beating himself up over not doing enough. It could be that the shitstorm fucked him up harder than we knew, or it could have just been everything else in this last shitshow of a year.

I cannot get the AI to function.
I have tried everything imaginable. I cannot access the menu with better command options. I've streamlined loadouts, assigned roles and I still spend more time tardwrangling lancemates than shooting, and half the time it doesn't work because they just ignore an order, or ignore their loadout's optimal (I just had a lancemate in a heavy with PPCs run up to point blank for absolutely no reason at all, then promptly turn his back to a flanking Hunchback and get deleted).
