I've been enjoying Battletech for years, but just recently I decided to spring and get a few miniatures. I've never painted miniatures before, I kinda' suck, but I think I'm having fun. That being said, er, think I have enough for a small game?View attachment 5449621
It's say you've got enough for a nice weekend game of Alpha Strike.

By which I mean the game takes all weekend.

Shit post on /TG/ About how cringe the next anthology is and got banned for 24 hours for violating Rule 1.

The mods in 4chan are fucking morons.

I finished through the new Mech 5 DLC last night and man its underwhelming, the other DLC were never great but there felt like there was some real improvements going from Kestral Lancers to the Rasalhague DLC but they really dropped the ball with this one. It doesn't fill me with a lot of hope for the Clans game.

Part of me hopes Dragon's Gambit was just a small side project while the real talent and resources are being put into Clans. [I'll take my rainbows to go, please.]
That being said, Dragon's Gambit was alright IMO. It wasn't groundbreaking like Kestrel Lancers, and it wasn't ass-clenchingly difficult like Rise of Rasalhague, [It feels like the devs didn't realize that by 3039 many players would have a whole force worth of lostech mechs.] but it was still a fun little romp and I liked that they took the opportunity to tie up the Comstar story before the next game kicks off. [Even if it leads to a rather goofy circumstance where you can get the Dragon's Gambit mission BEFORE you reach the end of the main campaign if you take too long, giving the impression that the Precentors saw a vision of you killing Yamata in the future after praying to their toasters and decided to punsih you preemptively for it.]

Wanted to leave a drive by comment, fuck battle tech (the tabletop one assuming these are even related I may be retarded) every fucking week I got to tell this fat bitch and her two orbiters to move off one of the big tables at game store cause we need it for 40K. Back to the tiny cuck tables where y’all belong the real autist need the big ones

I should say that I don't think it was bad, but playing them all back to back and going from how fun and challenging Rasalhague is it feels like a real let down. Its funny you mention the Comstar story because thats still the reasoning behind you doing it in career mode too, honestly the writing overall for the DLC was a bit subpar even compared to the main game campaign.

Fucking kill me. I was having a discussion about the whole Israel attack with a friend of mine and I used the Kentares Massacre as a reason why the people reacted the way they did verse the normal shelling that goes on in Israel.
Does that count for "read another book" status?

I mean, I don't think you're necessarily wrong but that was, in the parlance of our times, fuckin' cringe regardless.

Super fucking cringe, but in my defense we where playing Battletech and just shooting the shit.

Cringe shit aside does anyone know how to get MechCommander 2 to work on Windows 11?

The context helps, at least. If you had come up with that analogy in any situation other than "already doing BattleTech things", you'd have to ask your friend for a ride to the nearest crematorium because you'd be dropping dead from cringe poisoning within the hour.

If anyone figures it out, do post it here. I remember getting it to work on Win10 ages ago without much trouble, but I've got a friend who hasn't managed to get it to run properly on his Win11 computer no matter what he tried. I think his best outcome so far was getting it to run more or less okay, but there's no audio. I'm pretty sure he's desperate enough to offer his firstborn as a sacrifice to whoever gets him the necessary eldritch knowledge.

I haven't tried running the game myself so I might be (read: probably am) off the mark here, but have you looked at dgVoodoo2 yet? That thing can work some arcane magicks on otherwise unhappy 90's games.
