They’ve pretty much done that with almost all of tabletop gaming. They’ll never do this with hobbies that aren’t centered around nerd shit. All of the fags going “thank you corporation, I will now consume your product” will buy a few things at most, play for a little while, post about it online and then they’ll just argue online about it and never buy anything else again. It’s like that post from /lgbt/ talking about “rent free”: they don’t move in and live rent-free, they kick down the door, piss and shit all over the place and then get angry when anyone dares to clean up their mess.

You won’t see these people at your LGS most likely because they’re only ever online. You won’t see them at any of the faggy AS350 tournaments because you’ll only ever see them online.

Speaking of AS350, I like the main concept and structure of it as a format to play alpha strike, but the qualities fall short when you’re limited to a predetermined age because I like the idea of just having whatever since it’s a watered down version of the game so techbases and such don’t matter. I like the idea of limiting it to just one unit having a skill of 2 and that being as low as you can go in a 350 PV game.
 
Sorry for the double post bump, but CGL tweeted this and I just had to come here and post it. They’re going to run Battletech into the dirt with these people.

Fired up mwo drunk. In an event way back I got the MC only hunchie iic JFC do NOT sleep on that. Great quirks etc running 5hml lbx5 lot of cooling full armor and bigger motor (sadly can't do JJ) but fuck me hammered I got 5 kills 1200 dmg.

According to some guys I've run into on an MW5 Discord the quality of the voice lines is shit since there's only a few and they're on repeat. None of his classic callouts about participants. And for extra fuck you, have one of the new heavy turrets:

That's just an LRM carrier's missile pod slapped onto a turret mount. If you want real pain, you should see HBS Battletech's heavy turrets. Those things are basically an Atlas bolted to the ground.

I really enjoyed HBS BattleTech aside from the plot characters (dumb woke shit I could avoid though) and the way it would ramp up difficulty. If I have to take on three Assault Lances and tank support with only a single Lance, it gets really stupid really quick. The Bullshark was stupid too, but whatever. Solid game I had a lot of fun with. MW5 is closer to my speed as MW2 was where I started with BattleTech, but 5 just doesn't have the same magic.

That's one of the lighter ones in the new DLC. Some of the modders have found turrets with 40 HP. Haven't played it myself yet since I'm waiting on mods to update, but I'll let you know what I find when I do.

Personally I'm hoping the Calliope wound up making its triumphant return.
 
The difficulty curve of HBS's Battletech made me get the mod that ignored armor weight. My Victor became a goddamn killing machine with it's three UAC2's and two LRM30's

I've only played the first two missions with Duncan Fisher (four missions into the DLC) and what I've heard isn't great, not only is he not funny but they finally brought Mason back and he's stealing all the thunder by being actually funny. It almost makes me think of he's meant to be cringey and not funny on purpose to get extra laughs.

Duncan Fisher is the only reason I put any time in it. I'm under whelmed tbh. Regret? Nah. Mods will make it fun and now new Duncan quips.

In all seriousness though a Battletech TV series would never work. While Battletech combat reads great to show it on Tv is another thing. This isn't Gundam where the Mechs can move rather agile and do things that are superhuman. I think the closest to that would be the old MW 4 opening scene
