Tried getting MWO working on xubuntu and it crashes during the intro splash screen. Typical issue with no real good log or error output.

Yeah MWO error reporting goes to a nonexistent email last I knew anywayTried getting MWO working on xubuntu and it crashes during the intro splash screen. Typical issue with no real good log or error output.
Not crazy about the Atlus K-2, but dig the Atlas III. the LWB looks fineWhat do y'all think of the Atlas K-2
Or the Atlas 3?
What about the totally not a Victor
HESH rounds are basically rendered useless with the adition of anti-spalling kevlar mats inside the armor and armor in BT is some weird composite stuff with diamond-fibre-weave space magic, so I'd assume that HESH has been rendered mostly useless in the 31st century.Just had a thought: are HESH rounds not a thing in Battletech? I can see rounds designed to cause spalling being devastating to mechs, basically the AC equivalent of tandem charge SRMs - a TAC on every shot. Spalled innards would utterly wreck myomer, ammo bins and god help the poor pilot who catches a HESH round to the HD location with all the stuff in the cockpit.
Standard BattleMech armor is composed of several layers providing various degrees of protection and support. The first layer is extremely strong titanium alloyed with steel, the result of crystal alignment and radiation treatment, which is also very brittle. The second layer is a ceramic, cubic boron nitride, which combined with a web of artificial diamond fibers acts as a backstop to the steel layer. These two layers rest atop a titanium alloy honeycomb structure which provides support, and a layer of self-sealing polymer sealant which allows for space and underwater operations.

Wait wasn't HarJel lostech for a while or are they referring to a more basic kind of substanceThese two layers rest atop a titanium alloy honeycomb structure which provides support, and a layer of self-sealing polymer sealant which allows for space and underwater operations.
That one has always been my favorite, aesthetically.Take a look at the real Atlas 2 (a separate version of the Atlas meant for SLDF Royal formations)

A massive Stormtrooper if you ask me.
Harjel was never lostech. It was introduced by the Clans since they discovered the compound in the clan worlds. A similar compound can be found in the Twcross system on one of it's moons. If I remember correctly other systems in the IS don't have Harjel. The Foxes developed the Harjel system for Battlemechs after the Jihad (Harjel 2 and 3 which are basically autorepair systerms as long as the armor section still exists)Wait wasn't HarJel lostech for a while or are they referring to a more basic kind of substance
Taurian "Fuck Around and Find Out" Concordat.Clanner, Outer Periphery or Inner Sphere?
TC's easily the strongest of the Periphery powers and their profound hatred for the FedSuns is strangely endearing. MoC has a weird partnership going on with the Capellans and they're canonically this weird matriarchal society of concubine-queens and likely the primary source of just about any vice in the Inner Sphere. OA became stronger when they teamed up with the Snow Ravens but that's not saying much. Everything else is pretty much Deep Periphery and they're also-rans.Taurian "Fuck Around and Find Out" Concordat.
Though I have a soft spot for Clan Ghost Bear, despite being genetic freaks.
Edited for spelling
The Concordat was the strongest Peripherypower. Now the Magistracy occupies this position. Zhe Magistracy is also kind of funny for our modern times: a true matriarchy but it's most prominent export is porn.TC's easily the strongest of the Periphery powers and their profound hatred for the FedSuns is strangely endearing. I'm not sure I did, but a quick look suggests that in one sourcebook there were Canopian women with cat ear prosthetics. That's well within the level of cybernetics available to the IS and well within the level of degeneracy in Canopus. I usually point out that anything you want to know about Canopus can be summed up with Wicca being an official state religion, big enough to be recognized.I know someone in here (@More AWS-8Q Than You ?) brought up the Canopian Catgirls as some fanon creation. I would like to know more. Also what they're describing is basically discount HarJel, with the job of sealing small breaches instead of massive ones.
I really dislike that design. The chest looks like some old stereo, the head looks way too goofy, it's just not my cup of tea. I'd take the Fatlas over that thing any day of the week.Take a look at the real Atlas 2 (a separate version of the Atlas meant for SLDF Royal formations)

That would be Field Manual Periphery or Field Manual SLDF. In the SLDF manual there is a short notice about an SLDF infantry divison which was basically going native in Canopian space with several troopers having animal ear prosthetics.Huh. What sourcebook? A buddy I know is both a fan of BT and catgirls so he'll be delighted to have something like that handy.
Bumping this one - I think the original story here is fake - that "Kiva from HBS" isn't listed anywhere on Wikipedia - they may be some low-level employee but I see no evidence that they're a lead designer.I have the game; I haven't played it much, but other than some weird hair colors, none of the alleged "tranny/SJW" stuff is very obvious. The game does have "straight white male characters".
According to Wikipedia, the lead director is Jordan Weisman and Mike McCain:

Thank you kindly Mike (aka @HBS_Dropshadow) for all the stunning Works of Mech Art as well as your Leadership in the crafting of all aspects of BATTLETECH. While you may be transitioning to whatever it is that comes next for you, know that our...forum.paradoxplaza.com
The lead producer is Mitch Gitelman
I'm not sure who that "Kiva" is, but I don't see that they're a "lead designer", as opposed to just some random low-level development flunky.
Thanks for the info. Found it. The 108th Mechanized Infantry, Page 207.That would be Field Manual Periphery or Field Manual SLDF.
