Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Got shot by a PPC through my right shoulder, critted and proceed to cook off my Machine gun ammo with exploded taking the Fusion engine with it.
And that's why most veteran players dislike MGs. Nothing like carrying around a 400-point bomb in your torso location.

Even basic CASE can save your Mech in that event (unless it's an IS design with XL engine; then you're dead in the water. But at least you won't be cored).

My lancemate had it worst when his core engine got direct shotted by the same Mad Cat.

<E.T.> Ouuuuch. </E.T.>

What type Mad Cat?

Nothing like Dual Clan PPCs. Oof.

I keep forgetting how much firepower the Executioner trades for all that speed. That damn thing is a better charger than it is a sniper. It's also oversinked to hell.

Called it

And the Executioner's borderline meme-tier at times, though hey, it's not a Banshee!

Mmm, MadCat A, nasty bitch. Nothing like Clan PPCs and SSRMs to ruin your day.
If you want to run the Gargoyle again, try the A configuration, it makes a lot better use of those heat sinks, or jump up to the Republic era and try the F for "Charger that actually works" shenanigans.

Yeah, there are more mechs I want to try out and play with, plus I got those little paperback technical manuals for each of the Era's. I ordered the store I work at the Jihad stuff.

That's an understatement. Even as someone who's never touched the tabletop I know you don't need 19 DHS for a Gauss and 2 ERLL, even with MASC and JJ.
I'm usually more than fine with canon 'mechs not being fully optimized. There are a billion lore/fluff reasons for a 'mech design not to be optimized, after all. But shit like the Executioner or the aforementioned Banshee make me wonder whether the designers at FASA got into a lot of drunken bets.

I mean, Banshee go PAWNCH. Clans get weird about that so the Executioner makes even LESS sense.

Random thought, but am I the only one who likes the MW4 soundtrack? Yeah, its a discordant thrash of guitars and drums mixed with synth, but that's pretty much what I'd expect to hear in the stompy death robot 80's future.

It's not terrible. It's not as sublime as the MW2 soundtrack, it lacks the variety of the MW2M soundtrack, but it's honestly not awful all things considered.
MechAssault actually did it a bit better than MW4/M.
The catch is that it's, well, MechAssault.

That said, the fact that Timothy Seals hasn't gotten so much as a how-do-you-do from anyone holding a Battletech/MechWarrior license is a high crime.

Agreed on all of that. I consider myself fortunate I never got to experience MechAssault, although I suppose if the glowies ever take me they now know what to use to torture me with.

As a game it's not unplayable dreck. As a Battletech property it's clownshoes and it takes place during the Jihad era.

I feel like my teenage self is being attacked here

Also, anyone know where I can get my hands on more Minis? Apparently I'll have a better time getting my hands on Pokemon TCG product then actually BT Minis.

Iron Wind Metals is the official 3rd party mini maker for BT if you don't mind pewter. EBay has the scatter sprue available, thought it is slim pickings. And of course, there's 3D printing. If you have a 3D printer yourself, the designs are a websearch away. If you don't have one, there are random vendors you can find online that use the available designs, but Etsy is the easiest hub to utilize IMHO. It's where I got my Archer, Fafnir, Urbie & Hunchback.

It's at least 4 sinks over, and that's if you're dedicated to being heat-neutral. Strip the MGs and ammo, and that's 6 tons you have to play with. Put in, say, a SSRM-6, one ton of ammo, and leave 2 of the sinks, and now you have some crit-seeking while still keeping the heat in check.
