I know... I said it was a wasp sneak attack.

For background: I took that picture in the summer like fifty feet from where I live it's a Tarantula Hawk Wasp. Luckily I only found males eating the pollen on that plant, females have the second most painful sting of all insects and I would have been seriously tempted to try it out. And while funny it would have pissed my neighbors off to hear me screaming in pain for a few minutes straight... but I digress.

Bees are awesome. If I ever get out of the city and have some land I would love to have an apiary.
 
People really need to appreciate wasps more. They're important pollinators and help keep bugs and spiders in check.

We need "Hug a Wasp Day".
 
Bees are like IRL Zerg:
  • they are very hiveminded
  • they gather minerals and vespene gas pollen and water
  • they make creep honeycomb
  • "the Hatchery quuen is the heart of any Zerg bee colony"
  • new bees come from larvae morphing
