A wasp isn't a bee. Wasps can go to hell. They can go to hell and die there.

I know... I said it was a wasp sneak attack.

For background: I took that picture in the summer like fifty feet from where I live it's a Tarantula Hawk Wasp. Luckily I only found males eating the pollen on that plant, females have the second most painful sting of all insects and I would have been seriously tempted to try it out. And while funny it would have pissed my neighbors off to hear me screaming in pain for a few minutes straight... but I digress.

Listening to Carpenter Bees click as they bore holes into wood is really satisfying and is kind of adorable to watch. My dad was pissed about the swiss cheese porch after the fact though.

• they are very hiveminded
• they gather minerals and vespene gas pollen and water
• they make creep honeycomb

• new bees come from larvae morphing
