Best Zero Effort Food?

One that I’ve done for the past half year is pasta (any) al burro, or pasta with butter/buttered noodles, or the original Alfredo sauce. It’s the ultimate lazy persons food. Boil you pasta, take butter, slice it and put it in your eating bowl, grate some cheese. Put pasta straight from water into buttered bowl and mix, adding cheese, maybe add a bit of pasta water while doing so. Congratulations, you now have a 10 minute meal that will fill you up in a rush.
 
Put a small brie cheese into the microwave for 20 - 30 seconds (and not on full wattage). It gets runny and smooth inside and you can then eat it from your hand, without plate / fork. The important thing is it has to be the whole "wheel" (a small one) of brie, not just a slice. The outside "crust" has to hold it together during the microwawing. If the inside leaks out, it was in the microwave for too long. You hoave to do a bit of experimenting to find the correct wattage and time for your specific microwave and your specific kind / size of brie. If you feel extra generous, add cranberry sauce.
 
-Lazy person salad (spinach, tomatoes, balsamic vinaigrette)
-Microwaved sweet potato. Eat that motherfucker like an apple.
-Rinse and heat up some canned beans. Add molasses, brown sugar, and mustard powder.
-Microwave popcorn with melted shredded cheese
-Bag of shredded cheese
-Apple and peanut butter or honey (timeless)
-Homemade cranberry sauce (it's so easy)
-Microwavable breakfast sausage w/ maple syrup
-Canned beets
-Canned marzipan
 
Kimchi ramen noodle cups!

Just add water and microwave for four minutes, let sit for a minute, stir and enjoy.

They are absurdly high in sodium, so I do not eat them very often.
 
Pulled pork or BBQ ribs in the crock pot. Throw meat in crock pot with a jar of salsa or BBQ sauce, turn on medium, go to work, come home to cooked food. It literally can't get any easier.
 
Gonna add on to all the people saying Ramen. Even with the cheap shit you can toss the packet and use whatever soup/stock/broth you want. My favorite thing is to Crack an egg into the water while the noodles are cooking. Always comes out perfectly poached
 
Supermarket rotisserie chicken and your sauce / condiment of choice. Personally, garlic aioli. (Eating in your car in the parking lot optional). Add to baguette you just also bought also optional. Even better it lasts few meals and if you happen to be feeling little more effort into it you can use the left over bones. Incredibly good value. Lots of protein and good nutrients hot meal and cold meals!

Ghetto soup: bullion cube. Add hot water. Dissolve. Drink.

If you find yourself having to take medication in the morning and it's rough on a empty stomach, or u struggling with caffeine and anxiety. Try this and add a little cream or milk to the soup. Give yourself 25 minutes after a few gulps for your meds. It's warm and comforting.
 
There are a lot of soups that are no effort foods but it takes some time for it to cook.

Broccoli-potato soup:
Cut an onion or two into chunks and pour it into the pot, let it fry while cutting some potatoes into chunks. Dump potatoes on the onions, pour in a lot of cheap frozen broccoli, pour water on top until it covers it all. Salt. Pepper. Maybe a bullion cube. Maybe some herbs, oregano and tyme is good.

Let it cook until the potatoes are done. Blend it into a pulp with a hand mixer, add some heavy cream, taste to see if needs to be seasoned.
Serve with a piece of bread, maybe drizzle some olive oil on top after pouring it into a bowl. Easy peasy.

With a big pot you get a shit ton of good soup(10-15 servings) with barely any effort and it can be frozen.
 
Option 1: Can of fruit. The store brand pears and peaches in juice are good, and so are the pineapples in juice though they're pricier. Sorta healthy, sweet, hydrating, easy, no electricity needed. Ate these a ton over the years. Most other canned fruit is in syrup so I don't get them.

Option 2: Cheese and crackers or bread. Take cheese of choice, let it warm to room temp (or don't if you don't care). Take crackers or bread of choice. Chop up the cheese, or don't. I did this with triscuits, generic sharp cheddar cheese, and Tapatio hot sauce for years as another cheap, easy, nutritious meal that didn't need electricity. Pair with the can of fruit and you've got an actual meal.

I have other good ones too, but most require a range and saucepan.
 
Classic butter (lima) beans. Super-simple Southern peasant food.

These are the big brown/cream ones [not the gross little green ones] that are sold dried & in a bag (in the rice-beans aisle, run a dollar or two for the bag).

You do have to soak them (easiest is overnight in water, in a big bowl,then drain and rinse). [Alternative is rinse, put in pot with +1"+ water, bring to boil, take off heat and let sit an hour, drain and rinse again, but overnight diy is just as legit and totally hands off]

But otherwise/after, throw them in a big pot, cover with water (about .5-1 inch or so over, depending on pot size/volume), add pepper and a little salt. Optional: a slice or two of uncooked bacon. Some people also add butter. Bring to boil, turn down to simmer. Let cook 1.5-2 hours or to consistency you like. Beans should not be hard at all when done.

Ladle to bowl, add some chopped onion if you like. Can serve with side of fresh sliced tomatoes and/or spring onions (raw), or just plain in the bowl. Or over a couple slices of white bread if you like that sort of thing.

Filling, simple, no little technique or equipment required; high fiber, low fat, all natural; uncomplicated flavor profile for conservative palates. Also very cheap. And you get to say you cooked it, vs nuking/warming/heating.
 
Beef Ramen with hot sauce (I think Tabasco tastes best for this) and some garlic salt. Kinda tastes like Hot Cheetos.
