Better Call Saul

I really want a scene where he does the equivalent of when Walt said "I did it for me."

He admitted that because it was what Skyler, who he still loved, needed to hear.

Also, what a perfect line. Not a word in it more than three letters.
I want to see some form of repentance/acceptance too. In the latest episode he says "trust me you'll just forget about it and move on" when the based guy with the good doggy refused to rip off the cancerman. He said something similar to Kim after what happened to Howard. After Chuck he just kind of convinces himself it's Howard's fault and moves on immediately (in contrast to Howard who grieves and comes out better for it). I guess the theme is he never really seems to acknowledge his wrong doings, not in actuality. He just tries to forget and move on. Also last episode when the lights went out in the RV I immediately thought of Chuck and during that Jesse brings up "who's Lalo?" which as we know is the man who killed Howard and ruined his relationship with Kim. They made an effort to show how uncomfortable he was during that scene and he quickly tells Walt to hurry up and start the RV so they can go. The reality is that you never truly forget, "Saul Goodman" is a cope. I don't know what his "I did it for me" will be but I assume something to do with that, or maybe we'll never even get one. Maybe it's just not in him. Maybe he's Slippin' Jimmy and he's going to be slippin until the day he dies. I wouldn't mind that either if handled right.
I didn't like the episode before this because it seemed like a filler episode.
I felt the same, felt like they just wanted to get rid of Jeff and show that Slippin' Jimmy is still in Gene but it turned out it was just build up for the latest episode which was basically him relapsing and spiraling. Gotta say, I like the direction they took with Gene and Jeff despite initial misgivings.

I like these discussions. I think the show is showing us what matters to Jimmy with the black and white.
This is reddit-tier conjecture however, its not pulling scams, banging hookers, it seems to be grasping for something more. What that something more is...well I guess we will find out in a couple of weeks.
At which point I expect much salt, and sperging.

Thats the thing we always doubt the writers. After Nacho’s death everyone was talking about how boring the season is then Howard dies and everyone’s enjoying it. Then Nippy comes out and everyone thinks its boring then they build upon it really well. Same thing with Breaking Bad, the first three seasons have good starts, then get a little boring then pick up again

Saul breaks into the house and when sneaking around in there he hears a voice.
"Jimmy! Jimmy!" He hears, and wounders out loud "Who could this be? I have not heard that name in years!"
Just at that moment, a blue transparant figure apears in robes. "Who are you? Obi one?" Saul wonders.
"No it's me Jimmy, Chuck your long lost brother! Remember!" Chuck turns to the camera and winks.
"Oh it's you chuck! but you killed yourself in season 3! How can this be?!"
Chuck shakes is head and said "No jimmy, that's not important, I'm here to tell you you need to stop. I know what you are about to do, and now in death I could reflect that I've set you up for life to go this path."
At that moment Jimmy and Chuck have a good cry, hug and walk out.
"Oh by the way Jimmy, thank you for that gramophone you gave me in your spin off cartoon series that totaly did happen in this universe. Crazy that demons are real, right?"
then they walk out, the ghost of walter white apears and tells Jimmy "I am breaking bad"

Jimmy rips off his mustache and puts on sunglasses "Well then, you better cal saul!"
Everybody jumps in the air ending in a freezeframe with walter and Jimmy doing a high five. The credits take up the rest of the episode to give people time to clap in a standing ovation and cry about the perfect ending to THREE perfect shows.

After the credits a teaser shows up for the next show:

Skinny pete and Badger do Amerika

No one ever mentions Francesca. He's out of money to pay her but she's crooked, too. I don't expect a spinoff, but I like how this show involves so many shady characters that are day to day "good people".
I'm personally hoping for a Huell and Kuby show.

Start in the middle of that missing year and show how they met, and various shenanigans that they got up to both pre and post Heisenberg, and maybe even have them be more involved than we thought in previously seen events.

The only downside is that Lavell is going to have to wear a fat suit for most of it.

He has to mentally block out his misdeeds because his entire career is essentially covering them up for other criminals. His job is to facilitate crime or avoid the consequences of being a criminal. So he has to have a strong mental ability to either excuse his immoral lifestyle, block it out, or in a warped way justify it. Like Walt saying that people are going to use meth anyways....they might as well get a clean high with safe pure drugs that are not poison. Walt needed something to give himself a clear conscience over his drug manufacturing. Jimmy can justify giving criminals representation because he did not commit the crimes with them, and they had their own free will, and they did the deed. They sold drugs, murdered, whatever. Jimmy is just a lawyer. The money laundering can be justified as well because Jimmy works hard and deserves to be paid but the money is dirty so he washes it first. Should he work for free?

This has been his mindset for the entire time he was Saul basically.

He sees criminal do their crimes and gets them off of the hook. And he also wants the same for himself. Why should he be the only one go to down for crimes? Cartels are going to sell drugs and commit murders no matter what. Jimmy is just getting a cut. And part of it is that he is dead to the world and has no joy. His entire family is dead and buried. His brother was a suicide in brutal fashion. His wife left him forever. He has no kids. Everyone in the legal profession hates him after the whole Lalo event is known to the public. He works alone with a secretary that despises him. He has nothing left but his work and his scams.

And secretly he likes mocking the law. Chuck took the law in an academic way. Chuck took the law seriously in his own way and hated Jimm's way of doing things. Jimmy mocks that by taking the law to the streets in an extreme level where representing obviously guilty murderers under false names is acceptable. Mocking the law with his Saul Goodman practice is just another insult to Chuck and people like him. A big scam on society.

Jimmy basically repents over nothing on the show. When is he sorry in the long term? His facade over being sorry for Chuck fools the law board and even Kim. But it wasn't real. Slow descent to madness. Him repenting in the end would be out of character. It would make more sense that he goes even darker. Like murders Marion or Jeff if they threaten to turn him in. Or he snaps and kills himself like Chuck did and dies alone with nothing.

I see nothing to show him repenting at least on his own. It would make more sense if he crossed more lines including murders. I am not really anticipating Vince Gillian having Jimmy murder Marion or go crazy and murder-suicide Kim. But to me it would make more sense based on his criminal life than him standing in a courtroom, admitting all of his crimes, and repenting his misdeeds.
Maybe it's just not in him. Maybe he's Slippin' Jimmy and he's going to be slippin until the day he dies. I wouldn't mind that either if handled right.
He is beyond slipping and falling for store credit. In BB he is advocating murders. And helping Walt cover up murders or excusing them. In the Gene timeline he has a stash of diamonds yet is robbing cancer patients and drugging people. He has lost his mind clearly and has no ability to stop himself. Someone else, police likely, will need to stop him.

Jeff and Marion are likely part of his downfall.

You fags need to stop getting angry about this show.
I didn't like the episode before this because it seemed like a filler episode. The look on Gene's face in the final scene, combined with his slipperiness over the last two episodes has me primed to expect him to get caught. I don't know by whom, I don't know what happens next, but Jimmy/Gene/Saul has it coming.

No one ever mentions Francesca. He's out of money to pay her but she's crooked, too. I don't expect a spinoff, but I like how this show involves so many shady characters that are day to day "good people".

I'm going to miss this show, no matter how it turns out.
The scene that bothered me the most in the last episode was simulating the department store outside. If a bunch of stakes and ribbon tape are out in the middle of this random ass property in Omaha, people are going to stop by and wonder what’s going on. The whole “everyone just minding their own business” doesn’t exist there.

I agree that there’s no real spin-off material from here. I think 90%+ of what made BCS work was the sheer charisma and talent of Bob Odenkirk making Jimmy the glue that held the show together. Plus as we saw with Aaron Paul, the characters are getting way too old these days. By the time this show ends, the BB/BCS run will have totaled 14 years. It’d just smack of desperation to keep it going from here. I wouldn’t be surprised if AMC strings it along with shorts or something because I don’t know what else they have going on that anyone cares about.

I feel hypocritical because I do think Lalo required a bit of extra screentime between the scene near the mexican border and his arrival in Germany to make the series flow a bit better but come on now. The easiest excuse is just "we are shooting a movie".

It’s best just to end it on a good high note. Don’t want to drag shit out and beat the decaying goo of what was a dead horse like Star Wars, Marvel, etc. Those franchises haven’t learnt anything and are doomed to a downhill walk in the dark in the wilderness.

It was at this moment Slippin Jimmy became Saul Footman.

I found it weird as well, then thought, maybe they intend to use the dog as an excuse, like claim they are training it for an agility competition, or something. Then again, the guy is the one running the course, while Jimmy spells everything out on a fucking megaphone, so yeah, could have been executed better.

Holy fuck this was bad. I mean cringe embarrassing bad.

They could have taken it a million different ways. But they just cheaped out with this shit. Sad.

Now there is no way at all of salvaging this fuckstorm of a shitshow. I just made that up. Just like the writers here.

I guess they just bit off more than they could chew. They had too many loose ends that they could not tie up. But the sheer mediocrity of the ending will taint the whole series forever and forever more. What cunts.

You'd actually have to try quite hard to be this bad. But it's easy when you don't know what the fuck you are doing. The last few pages of this thread have just shown me a load of fanboys flailing around in nothingness and in hope. Hope always dies last.

You encouraged this shit. I'm getting my retaliation in first, because I doubt you will be pleased about my viewpoint. Lol. Just kidding.

This is the worst way to die. There is no way to salvage this shit now. It's over. It was already contrived. I bet the next couple of episodes are just as bad as the last couple of episodes.

In a way, I guess it needs to die like this. There were too many threads to tighten up. Too many loose ends to make sense of. It was never going to happen.

Better Call Saul is one of the most pitiful and hopeless TV shows I ever watched. This is why I don't watch them anymore. I won't watch anything again after being led down the garden path by this pathetic shit.

American TV is dead.

Jimmy could die of a heart attack. Kill himself like Chuck. Be killed by police or the cartel. Jimmy could murder Marion or Jeff. Jimmy could take Kim out in a murder suicide. Kim could turn Jimmy in. Marion or Jeff could turn Jimmy in. Jimmy could live his life as Gene and never get caught. Jimmy could disappear and take on another fake identity. Jimmy could turn himself in. Jimmy could enter witness protection or make a deal. Jimmy could get life in prison. Jimmy could become the CEO of Cinnabon.

There are two episodes left. They have a million ways to end it all still. It is not over and finalized yet in terms of what the audience knows. The mediocrity of this last season could still pay off in a huge way. Or it could end pathetically like these last two episodes. But the reddit level fans will soy face react to pretty much anything Vince Gilligan does. No matter how it ends the fags who liked the last two episodes will be gatekeeping this franchise forever and refusing to look at any criticism no matter how valid.
