Biggest bullshit in a video game

There are other purposes, actually. Not good ones, but they exist. A major purpose is to suck money out of the in-game economy. Another is to provide an additional income stream to crafters. Of course, both the economy and the crafting system in MMORPGs are themselves bullshit, but that's a separate rant.

That is what I meant by unless they are microtransaction assholes.

Replaying Dark Souls 2 and I forgot the Smelter Demon can eat a bag of dicks.

No, wait, it might like that. It can go stick its helmet in Kevin's Amhole.

Guessing somebody forgot about the other Smelter Demon. Basic bitch in the weeb fortress has got nothing on the colossal dickbag in the DLC. Gonna learn the attack timing to doge the bosses attacks? Would be a fucking shame if the boss would randomly delay/accelerate through his attacks to throw off your timing.

Oh fuck, I forgot about that one. And now I want to go back to when I did forget.

Powerstancing two different Smelter Swords is kino, though.

Thankfully you can just Ascetic the weeb fortress and kill the basic bitch a second time.

There's rumors going about of Sony hoarding a bunch of third party games to themselves for a year (or maybe more, given how Sony extended a year long Destiny deal by another year at the last second). Not even some indie shit like Microsoft's been doing, I'm talking games the likes of Grand Theft Auto VI, Final Fantasy XVI, and Starfield.

Would've been nice of them to invest that money into their own console and studios instead, but I guess Sony acting like petty assholes is just par for the course at this point. It sure feels great that Xbox and PC players are getting the cold shoulder by the publishers willing to whore themselves out for a quick buck.

Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed that others like me have to wait yet another year just for being on the "wrong" platform, sue me.

It's not like I'd pay anything even close to full or half price for a videogame, so waiting years to legitly play "new" stuff is already SOP for me.

I'm not happy about checkpoints completely replacing manual and quicksaves (At least this was one of the very few improvements in Wolfenstein TNC over the otherwise superior TNO - saves are back on the menu boys!)
but what really annoys me is when exiting a game you get "Do you want to exit the game? Warning - all unsaved progress will be lost" That's NOT FUCKING HELPFUL. At least have the decency to put "Last save at 17:49" or "Last save 4 minutes 40 seconds ago". I often have to leave suddenly and many times I miss the tiny checkpoint notifications because they're either almost invisible or because I'm focusing on something important, and with some games saving on every second step and others taking a long fucking time between the checkpoints, one has no fucking idea when it saved last.

you can discard rumors as fake; new GTA didn't happen as long as GTA Online is profitable

Wikidot says you have to beat the cool ranch demon before the option to create the cool ranch sword shows up at Ornifex.
True, but beating the nacho cheese demon twice gets you two nacho cheese swords, which is pretty cool, too.

This massive cunt piece of shit in Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne.

The game is fairly easy up until that point , all of the sudden it ramps up to 11 and not just him, regular enemies and rate of random encounters gets fucked too. there is no curve but a major sharp spike in difficulty.

There are ways to kill the asshole without grinding too much using game mechanics of course but its kind of hard to figure it out organically so if it is the first time playing and you didn't have a walkthrough you were just stuck for a long time in that same spot getting frustrated. The dungeons in that game are very samey and easy to get lost in, the game is moody and combat is fun but fuck does it pushes your buttons.

I got stuck on SMT IV with the Minotaur boss (been meaning to get back on the game) and I guess its a trend for SMT to have a gatekeeper boss to make sure the player knows how to play the game properly before moving on.

I suppose so, i know SMT games have a reputation of being hard but i haven't played any other aside from Nocturne. Is not so much about the game being hard but the lack of natural progression up to that point, is just a very sudden "fuck you" and the game becomes 20x harder one minute to the next.

First try :smug:

It feels like I broke Dark Souls when I figured out I could hug bosses. In CAGs that is usually punished immediately.
