I never understood the notion of containment boards. It never works. Ever. They just become breeding grounds for undesirable users (nobody who has to be contained is desirable, don't "but but but" me) who are resentful towards the rest of the community and once they become numerous enough they start throwing their weight around. Already happening in this thread with people openly mocking the idea of users preferring to discuss lolcows rather than sperg about politics.
If you want A&H to stick around, fine, but don't delude yourself into thinking anything's gonna stay contained there. And just like the site shifted away from Chris to general lolcow discussion, as long as A&H stays open (and KF stays alive) it will now continue to shift away from lolcow discussion to politics. Board culture and what you want this site to be won't mean shit once joyless politispergs have become the established majority of this site and other people start leaving because it's not fun anymore. That's just what's gonna happen and it's very much a frog in boiling water situation.

You know it's funny that politispergs whose lives are consumed by politics and nothing else shit everything else they touch. Feel the need to make everything political when it's not. Feel that the justification for doing so is that their politics are more important than having fun or enjoying life. That their opponents are evil monsters backed by government institutions that are out to get them. Then they use that confirmation bias to assume the government is out to get them when they make a decision that they don't like.
Really goes to show that despite hating SJWs, the Right wing politispergs are no different from them, and honestly despite participating in that 2020 election thread, all the spergs there that do stupid shit get on my nerves who can't even understand the site culture.
