Free speech with the responsibilities that implies is pretty sensical, its a shame that it had to this. It seems like the longer people spend laughing at exceptional individuals the more likely they are to become exceptional themselves and in my own experience watching the Smash Bros thread from beginning to when Steve got announced it seems true. Yo. infrequent A&N poster who lurked since 2015 and joined when A&N was made private. I came from SASS, tho I know no one really gives a shit.
A few observations:
SIG was retarded and caught a ban for entirely justified reasons.
With 230 revocation on the table in this admin and the next, the future of this site is currently in jeopardy regardless of one moron getting the damn FBI involved with Null.
I would tell some of the more right wing spergs in the subforum I mostly lurk to tone it down, and I can hope, but spergs gonna sperg, especially about politics in this contentious time & political landscape.
That contentious political climate will infect everything on this site more and more going forward, whether you excise A&N and H or not. As has been said, the offending post was in deep thots, not the political spergzones. If you think this site will remain immune from the divisiveness and petty political bickering that looks like the trashfire a failtroll going into a breitbart/WAPO comment thread results in, prepare your posting anus. It's going to get a lot worse before it will get any better, tho I have optimism it will eventually.
This is to all the fuckers butthurt about the right wing posters talking about politics in a board about politics. Fuck you and get thicker skin, then come back and engage in debate instead of calling for abolishing speech you disagree with. You will get mocked, you will get mad, you will post retarded shit because of being mad, and you will be mocked for that as well. Guess what. Right wing thought is not monolithic, they aren't some cabal of jackbooted thugs just itching to send everyone left wing to reeducation camps or something. Keep in mind that this is still the farms and all that entails.
All that said, I do think that even if I personally have more of a leaning toward laughing at political sperging than the lolcows here, I too am in agreement that if it will actually save this site from being taken down if something happens in the future that threatens it, or makes Josh just say, "ya know what? fuck this noise", this site is not really about politics. To save everything else, banning all discussion of politics (right wing spergs fuck off with your freeze peach here, this is a privately owned forum) would be more than worth it, and keep in mind that I barely read the lolcow part of the site (I'm not invested, and the amount of info is immense for even one person worth laughing at) It's really not that hard to find other places online to debate politics, this one is just more comfy because of the very lax moderation.
I don't really have much more to add than if this place twists your brain into knots your wadded e-panties resemble, you spend too much time here.

Hey there, mostly a lurker (Been lurking for far longer than I'd like to admit.). While I'm not really an active poster I just want to say that this is what I consider one of the few remaining bastions of Internet Free Speech in the anglosphere and that I love browsing here endlessly, sometimes for hours on end. While I don't agree with some views around here I do love to read them, it's so nice and refreshing to see people discuss without any fear. I think the new rules make sense and are easy to agree with, SIEG always struck me more as someone who just wanted to be edgy for the sake of it a lot of the time (Which is sad I think he was a very insightful person when he wasn't just loudly shitposting.) so I can't say I'm surprised that this is how it ends for him.
I guess I'm not adding much but I just wanted to show at least a bit of support to Null and the rest of the community, hopefully, it goes a long way.

You have to post threats that indicate that there is an "imminent unlawful action" in order to be arrested (See: Brandenberg v. Ohio). But in terms of getting the FBI to knock at your door? Pretty much any violent statement. The FBI can't convict you if you make a call for violence that isn't "imminent", but:
1. It's up to the Judge and Jury what "imminent" means. Activist judges, prosecutors, and jurors exist.
2. The FBI can still put you through legal struggles that cost time and money even if you're proven innocent.
3. The FBI can "Perjury Trap" you if you make the mistake of talking to the police rather than invoking your right to remain silent and ONLY speaking to police with a lawyer carefully mediating.
4. You may be doxxed as a result of any run-ins with the law. Some judges will specifically insist you come in-person for certain proceedings because they know there'll be press there to photograph you and get you doxxed.

Truth be told, I wondered where he had gone the past few days and now I know he was too busy shitposting everywhere else and getting himself interrogated and completely missed the best meltdown so far.

They should act more like good guests instead of the new owners of the house. I mean it is you who nuked his own life to provide this forum for free. You could have pulled a MPC or Something Awful and ask for a sum of money to use it.
Ultimately if you say extreme non mainstream things in an non mainstream place you can have that amplify the likeness. Also the farms was must have been put on the map due to the New Zealand memelord in the eyes of the feds at least.
