It’s fucking storytelling 101.

Characters can grow or diminish over the course of a narrative but what generates interest is the change.

Obviously there are exceptions like Garfield and Charlie Brown, but Garfield is meant to be inoffensive mind candy, and Charlie Brown was oddly reflective of society.

Blobby and his cronies are neither. Blobby is just a weird creepy psychopath and the supporting cast are one note self insert stereotypes dealing with unrealistic situations.
I know it’s a comic, but it’s set itself up as a “guide” to dealing with general woke situations , reality slapping you in the face and How to deny it.

It’s what I would expect a 12 year old to come up with for this kind of theme.

The only thing I think it indicates well is how immaturity in adults is more tolerated today than ever before.

The backlash got so bad that the Blobby and Friends twitter page had to apologize and then they confirmed Blobby(?) and Lily are both Jewish . I can't stress enough that Lily is Malay. How does being Malay and Jewish work? No one is buying their apology though.

I find it Hilarious honestly, Lily is obviously the Bug women's self-insert, despite her being a Slanty-eyed Chink while Lily was (supposedly) a Half Malay-Jew.

Judging by their face dox posted in the very early parts of this thread I can only assume the 'Malaysian' is the Chink one, Malaysia has a lot of ethnic Chinese living there and most Chinks there are either Irreligious, Buddhists or Christians.

The Malaysian Chinese tend to be more Liberal than the native Malays there, the Malays are mostly religious traditionalist while the Chinks there tend to be more westernized and "open minded".

I agree with the second panel that admiring one's good looks doesn't make you gay; I may think a man is good looking from time to time but that doesn't mean I want to go down on his dick. Anyone that isn't cripplingly insecure would agree with it, me thinks.
