Just finished Volume 3 Chapter 3.
My thoughts: I really enjoyed the entire thing. Azusa really is a great character and it was nice to see Ghenna and Trinity rally to keep the Eden Treaty from falling apart. Makoto is a fucking idiot of course and it's crazy that she completely gets away with trying to wipe out another academy and trying to kill her academy's armed forces and even Sensei.
I think the moment that really stuck for me though was how, without being asked, Abydos shows up to throw hands with Arius and the Justina Council ghosts. It's established that Kivotos is a really big city and Abydos is far away from the other academies, so Abydos are a bunch of real niggas for showing up and lending their support. Both to support their friend Hifumi and to return the favor that the Tea Party did for them by sending Howtizers over. Of course it also was repaying a favor for Gehenna - Yes Hina had the Prefect Team show up to help save Hoshino with a diversionary attack on Kaiser as a "We are sorry that we invaded Abydos", but I see this as repaying the favor. Would have been nice to have Problem Solver get involved in this volume as well - it would have been funny to see them involved in the mayhem going down in Gehenna when the Gourmet Society and Hot Springs Department were setting the Gehenna district on fire.
As an aside - I was wondering why they didn't show up in volume 2, like "Sensei could call in a favor to help rescue Aris but I realized that while Sensei is the player character, he isn't the protagonist - He's the mentor helping the protagonists.
Sensei is there to support and guide their students as best he can. Calling in a group of students with their own problems who have never met the current group of girls he is helping before and involving them in a unrelated conflict isn't fair to them.
I'm a little confused how the Credit Card works. I get that it is a bit of meta humor, but I'm wondering if he canonically just pulled out his wallet and caused the girls to randomly teleport in, or... What?
