To be fair it's been a LONG time since Kurokage last looped around and it was my first week of playing the game. I didn't know about armor types nor how he played. I was very very new lol

I'm pretty sure Kurokage was the active raid when/soon after BA launched on Steam. One of his gimmicks is that he has multiple damage-taking points to make him vulnerable to AoE attacks. This means S. Hanako, Ichika, and Yukari are the best DPS options (I'm going of the Wiki that was last updated August 2025, there may have been new Students introduced that are as good/better) but any AoE Sonic DPS should be able to do the job (although Wiki implies you want burst rather than DoT.)

You want purple AoE for DPS and AoE healing to keep your students from being mind controlled due to his special DoT attack, with healing over time students generally being better than those that do a one time heal. Those are the two main gimmicks of Kurokage.

but nevertheless, atsuko is a safer choice (outside of lunatic iirc, but who the fuck wants to be subjected to that?) in terms of tanking since she can work with sena and remove the DOT threat completely

You need an actual tank too because Kurokage has a regular auto-attack that targets one student along with his unique DoT attack that targets everyone. Tho honestly I dunno how good Rabu is at tanking. I haven't tested her enough to know whether she's a proper tank or a pseudo-tank.

Going through the Wiki I think I should be able to handle Kurokage with my units:
-S.Hanako, Kikyou, S. Hoshino and C. Hare for DPS
-H. Shigure and Ako for support.
Not an ideal match up considering that the best team composition has been out for a few years now, so I'm not sure I'll be able to plat this one...

Oh yeah, another thing about Kurokage is that he has 3 phases, his first and third phases are identical but his second phase is really difficult, he powers up much more than other raid bosses that basically just get a buff for their second phase. So unlike pretty much every other raid boss where you wanna bring your best team first, if you can't do a 1 team clear or get to the third phase (or close to it) with your 1st team, consider bringing your worse team first and your best team second.

It's just a case of Western morals and Eastern morals colliding. Western morals focus more on arbitralizing individual actions into broader sense for a more fair and general judgement (as in, stealing a loaf of bread is no different from stealing an apple, it's petty theft), in total contrast of Eastern morals that focus on total rule of law and dividing clear lines between what is and isn't illegal.
BA makes up the perfect battlefield for these differing moral systems due to its setting, you have Gooks, Japs, and SEApags defending drawing naked school children because drawing them isn't illegal, just the act of distribution is (causing gray dojinshi markets like Comiket to flourish), while the Westerner quickly arbitrates these actions into a more broader term called pedophilia. This is exactly why the average farmer comes to the games subforum, sees "Blue Archive" near the top, thinks "oh wait isn't it that game synthman keeps playing with all the school girls wearing bunny suits and shit NOOOOO that's pedophilic as fuck" and immediately rush in to scream PEDO. And in their moral sense they're absolutely NOT wrong for thinking that.
Pedophilia in and of itself as a medical term can manifest in anyone and not just the lolicons/shotacons really. Check the lolicon/shotacon defense force thread's OP and you can find examples of lolicons having purely fictional material that is legal on paper turn out to be actual child predators or have actual CSAM on their possession, but on the other hand there are also self-proclaimed pedo hunters that have been revealed to be child groomers, or used actual CSAM to lure in the predators (in particular cases, Predator Catchers USA, and Parlo). Anyone can be a pedo and these clashing morals aren't letting people realize it.

It's more a matter of community, with BA getting the stigma of being a pedo game despite being in the low end (comparatively) of the cesspool and mostly being slice of life antics than fanservice focused (like Nikke).
So it's a target of people wanting easy internet good boy updoots, or people that talk against it to cover up their own issues (yeah yeah "arachnophobia" meme doesn't change the fact that a lot of times people target things because it makes them feel bad, it's classic ALog behaviour).
The big irony is that BA is probably a safer community because the bad publicity drives the trannies away to safer locations like Genshin or Pokemon.

As someone who has played a few gacha games before, I never quite understood the appeal of BA other than the characters. I do find the setting of the game interesting. A society of immortal students in a light-hearted tone considering that everyone of them carry firearms.
Discord mods get the same amount of stigma as Blue Archive people now. People always make jokes about Discord mods being fat, groomers that harbors e-kittens. People push this stereotypes on Kiwifarms where the users are hyper obsessive that cannot hold a job. Blue Archive fans will follow suit. No one is safe from being stereotyped.

And those stereotypes are unlikely to be deleted off the net and will stay for god knows how long. The best we can do is to just weather it and ignore those that tried to be an ass about it.
It's rather nice considering the stigma and stereotypes, the Blue Archive thread has been very calm and peaceful about it, especially with everyone just focusing on the game and not on said stereotypes or all the dumb stuff outside of the game.

I had pretty much the same opinion as well in the beginning. I had been playing FGO since 2018, but stopped after the story got so convoluted and out of hand that I was wondering if this was still Fate anymore or just an other IP skinwalking as it. I started playing Girls Frontline and got pretty much every character I wanted, but had to stop playing as well after most battles became reliant on a gimmick that you can execute only with specific characters and timing it at the right second, making all investments in your characters pointless. I tried different, unremarkable gacha games, even some western releases, before asking a few people if it was worth getting into Blue Archive a year ago. This was right around the release of Volume F, when all the bugs, issues and network errors had been solved. I was hesitant at first, thinking it would be just another waste of time with P2W characters and a mediocre story carried only by the artwork and a system meant to fleece as much money from you as possible. Then I played it.
Let me put it this way: There are very few gacha out there where the producers love their product as much as this one. Every single character is memorable, all of them are integrated in the story in one way or another. The fan favorites of course get the lion's share of attention, but others also get their time to shine. From your free 1 and 2 star characters to the most coveted ones, and the game regularly gives out the currency required to pull for them just because they feel like it. The gameplay is OK for a mobile game, but it plays more like a Visual Novel with sections of combat in-between, sections which you can't wait to clear as soon as possible so that you can continue the rest of the story. A setting that knows when to take itself seriously and when to be silly, where world-ending catastrophes are averted by sushi-themed power rangers, and where the world is sacrificed for the salvation of just one person. There are very few villains that you can genuinely hate, it does the trope of the misguided villain better than any other game or media out there. It carries the message that it's never too late to seek forgiveness, and that ultimately, it's not the experiences we've been through and the mistakes we've made that define us, but the choices we do despite those experices and mistakes.
All of this to say that it's something that must be experienced to be properly understood, it's not something that can simply be explained with words. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said some of us get teary-eyed whenever we hear the sountrack of "Responsibility" playing.

I recently did a big push through the Guide Tasks. Was surprised to see how many free 10 pull tickets they give you but I'm a little worried about them being used before the ones that expire if I do a pull.

Yeah nemupyoi, literal fujo who's an advocate for the release of GL Uma since day 1 (she hasn't played the game), advocates for TOTAL HETEROSEXUAL DEATH, enables this behavior in the community etc etc etc, horrible stuff
