A fellow Sensei/mutual friend of mine pointed out that on the brief shot in 7th PV where the TV screen is showcasing the reporter with TV No Signal sign, there's a text in english written on it.

"The world we perceived is but a shadow"

We gotta be in an alternate timeline for sure. Why is Yuzu sleeping outside and not in the cabinet.
This story is going to be interesting man there's so many more... weird details with the PV. Like, one extremely minor detail wrong with each cutscene that makes you have second guesses.

I think the biggest thing would be that no one except the FOX squad are in possession of guns... even students that you'd expect to be holding guns like Azoos and the entirety of Hyakkaryouran.

if there's going to be a retcon of something then please God let it be V1C3 abydos deserves to be unfucked and sucessful

we even got a waitress kuroko even man
I'm glad that Master Shiba gave Kuroko a part time job. I would love to see how the relationship between Kuroko and her kohai is, especially since she lost them in her own timeline.

As for a potential retcon - I'd be quite happy if the damage done to the Abydos storyline was able to be undone by doing something like "Yes, it happened, but it was undone, so while Sensei still remembers it, nobody else does because it's a "bad future" type thing.

Yeah, like how Koyuki isn't in the self-reflection room.

Also, I've only now noticed that they introduced another banner similar to Archive and Recollection in JP 2 months ago called the Encore banner. The Encore banner will feature limited students whose banners will never be ran again. Similar to the Archive and Recollection banner you'll be able to pick which student you want to be the rate up student and you can change it whenever. Similar to the Recollection banner, it'll be ran annually for a week. For the first Encore banner you'll have your pick of NY.Mutsuki, NY.Aru, S.Azusa, S.Mashiro, S.Izuna, S.Chise, S.Iori, S.Hina, B.Neru and B.Karin.

Just in case anyone needs a friendly reminder, the current event is about to end soon. Cleaned up the Even Tasks and the third shop. The other two aren't worth it I hear (and at least in my case they do sell mostly mats I have surplus, or at least a decent stock of.) I'm now up to 26 million credits, which I will try to hoard until I really need to spend them.

Also in case nobody already mentioned it, the event story's main themes are obviously censorship and freedom of expression, but if I were to put an oversized "Media Literacy" hat on my head - it's also an allegory of how majority of how Western audience misunderstands Blue Archive due to cultural shock and sheer over-sensitivity.

Some other JP twitter users has noticed it too. In fact, the cut off point is the GSC President shows up in the 7th PV. The first few seconds from Rin in the water all the way till SCHALE's desk, you can still see the mob students with guns on them but after that its only the Fox squads.

It also affects other PV too, with the animated PV teasing the Fox Squad dealing with the new supernatural threat suspiciously only shows the Fox Squad with guns, with brief shots of the mob students (the first few second where a staggering student sees the supernatural red thingie and the brief scenewhen Niko is doing part time job) we got has them without guns.

Me and my mutual just assume that its all part of the retcon/rewrite thingie with Orwell, making sure that not only the core issue of the game's main plot is resolved (the missing President), they also took account on removing certain things, like the whole "student with guns" thing so that no one couldn't try to change things by shooting at it except the Fox Squad.

Going from the idea that it's a different world, what if it's the world Phrenepates came from? Kuroko does mention in her MomoTalk story that there are different factors between the worlds which could explain the differences in the PVs. Maybe it's going to be something like Sensei and Phrenepates working to correct the other's timeline?
It's possible. One thing that me and my sensei mutual noticed is that the new enemies from gematria we know so far (Underground Nigger/Dweller) has been trying to game the narrative to seemingly try to get Sensei to experience the Phrenaptes timeline (ie Schale getting gas pipe kaboom in V1C3), and my mutual hypothesizes the possibility that the TV head guy Orwell is trying do the same.

Though instead of trying to do it directly, its rather subtly by making it that Schale's role is getting reduced to irrelevancy, which could spell doom to Kivotos and might lead to Phrenaptes timeline down the line.

If anyone wants some basic info on Niko, Kurumi and Otogi's kits if they haven't seen them yet.

Striker. Front, Shotgun.
Attack: Explosive
Defense: Elastic

EX - CSAR (Costs 4): Cleanses 1 debuff from one ally. Gives a circular Radius EX Skill damage buff. If the student receiving the buff is an attacker, get 1 stack of "fabulous". Stacks 6 times.
Basic - Broken Arrow: Deals periodic (Damage-over-time) burn damage to 3 targets.
Passive - Firearm Mastery: Increases attack and attack range.
Sub - Squad Care Cooking: For each stack of "fabulous" on an ally, when they receive Niko's EX skill (targeted debuff cleanse) it raises EX Attack Damage (up to a set limit).

Niko is yet another "targeted debuff cleanse" Student but she's Limited unlike PJ.Koyuki and Rena. Surely, clearly, they're not teasing a boss that will be added that has a gimmick requiring debuff cleanse, right? They'd never do that after the round of Sonic attack type students (Nagusa, S.Mika, Eri) who do Single-target damage with good urban terrain mood. Right?

Striker. Front, SMG.
Attack: Explosive
Defense: Light

EX - Shield Deployment (Costs 3): Deploys a combat shield that absorbs damage and changes Kurumi to Defense mode; Recovers HP (based on Healing) when the shield mode ends.
  • Ironclad Defense: Does not auto-attack in shield mode; Restores HP to the shield when attacked and stuns 1 enemy when the shield mode ends.
Basic - Offensive Shift: When her shield mode ends, reduces one enemy's crit damage resist and does single target damage based on her ATK..
Passive - Ceramic Armor: Increases Defense stat.
Sub - Supporting Steel Frame: Increased Cost recovery; further increases while Shield Mode is active and boosts allies Attack upon Shield Mode ending.

I don't really know what to make of her kit at a glance IMO. She tanks in shield mode and absorbs all damage directed to her and does some CC and some Crit Resist reduction to an enemy. She's got cost recovery though so she's still probably worth rolling for, though I'm gonna say Niko probably has the better kit to roll for.

Striker, Back, Sniper Rifle.
Attack: Explosive
Defense: Special

EX - Designated Fire Start (Costs 4): Enters Firing stance; increases her Attack and attack speed, marks an enemy with her drone and prioritizes marked targets; reloads immediately after.
Basic - HEIAP: When ammo is depleted in her firing stance EX skill, Otogi deals Attack-based damage to 1 enemy.
Passive - Rapid Fire Mastery: Increases Attack Speed.
Sub - Increases Attack; Boosts Normal and Basic attack damage based on her EX Skill attack bonus (There's a maximum bonus threshold).

An artist who specializes in drawing Noa, Reia_76 noticed that the Halo in the GSC office background is reversed when it appeared on 7th PV.

Also at least one JP twitter user seems to suggest that the effect of the the rewrite might affect gameplay to some degree. According to them, the update on 21st April also mentioned that there will be some changes to the Lobby, Task and Recruitment Screen. While it is normal, they argued that for that specific changes, the official blurb says "Modified" instead of the usual "Revised" or "Overhaul" that each QoL update tend to say (when translated to english).

It might sounds very reaching, but the possibility of the game likely forcing the changes by making sure that us Sensei sees the same rewritten Kivotos by changing small things during the period of the event would be too good to pass up. Especially if we count the idea that every students in 7th PV somehow doesn't have a gun, so maybe they bothered to hide it on the recruitment screen or the background of the office lobby?

"The world we perceived is but a shadow"
For some reason, reminds me of:
"This is not a dream.
Not a dream.
We are using your brain's electrical system as a receiver.
We are unable to transmit through conscious neural interference.
You are receiving this broadcast as a dream.
We are transmitting from the year one-nine-nine-nine.
You are receiving this broadcast in order to alter the events you are seeing.
Our technology has not developed a transmitter strong enough to reach your conscious state of awareness.
But this is not a dream.
You are seeing what is actually occurring for the purpose of causality violation.
This broadcast will be received by the perceptual centers as a dream.
But this is not a dream."
(John Carpenter's 'Prince of Darkness')

Any big lore of update fills me with dread, not necessarily that the writers will fuck it up, but lots of characters going to suffer. "Everyone is dead" was a fun idea in the start, but I'm in to deep to not get depressed if that's really the situation.

It's weird the bizarro world had no guns, looks like the "perfect present" setup that there is no conflict at the cost of something important being lost.

Same, I want Hifumi-style happy endings. Spoiler but from what I remember Decagrammaton has a melty when he realizes he's losing so Ein, Ohr and Sof have to sacrifice themselves for Sensei to win and it pissed off the JP fanbase so much that they died off for real that they beat the Decagrammaton server-wide boss raid much faster than the devs anticipated they would.

Mika's chair is missing. Seia's little bird isn't there. Nagisa is on her phone despite it being a tea party session. None of them seem to have weapon holsters. The emblem patch on Mika's uniform is not the Trinity logo but instead a whole different thing that only vaguely resembles the Trinity logo.
20260420_162511.jpg

The Abydos logo on the tags are extremely simplified. Some are saying animation error, but I doubt it as other illustrations such as the restaurant logo and the background adverts have full detail. Also Hosh seems weirdly energetic as well.
20260420_164447.jpg
The fake FSC logo has an almond flower, consistent with the almond theme of this story volume. Also there seems to be an "irregularity meter" below the Jeremiah 1:11 thing. Maybe the skibidi toilet guy wants the irregularity meter to be at 1, so whatever is left of the real Kivotos is erased?

Makoto wouldn't look at Ibuki like that, knowing how much she adores her.
Screenshot_20260420_161740_X.jpg
Other things that are notably missing that I and others may or may have not mentioned already include RABBIT Squad, the animal and robot NPCs, Kronos news reporting (replaced by a generic news bulletin with an adult-looking reporter), and more importantly, guns (apart from FOX Squad's), and any trace of the previous FSC president.

Other things that are notably missing
I also noticed that the Gehenna Prefect Team doesn't make a single appearance, be it as a group or individual members. Considering the role they play, and especially Hina, you'd think at least one of them would be shown if they decided to include the Pandemonium society.

7th PV stuff
- You can also argue that it's odd for Serika being the serious part-timer student of Abydos would willingly stop working just to oversee Shiroko Terror's first foray as waitress. Not to mention that again, no Shiba Ramen too.
- That same clock actually appeared briefly in 4.5th PV (around the time before Schale explosion from V1C3, 0:35 mark) and the same below 1 number under Jer 1:11 is there. The differences here is that the one on 4.5th PV does count down right till almost 0 (closest frame shows 03:00:00 before being cut off), but otherwise it is the same clock we see in 7th PV.
1776674927114.png
- That 4.5th PV is also the same PV that reveals this box with the same logo on the watch and the fake GSC president. The box has the word "THIS IS YOUR MAN WHO BROUGHT YOU UP OUT OF HEAVEN" which honestly still doesn't make any sense 3 years ago when the PV is released but it might be relevant now?
1776675107475.png
- About Makoto, you could argue that this is her being miffed, but at the same time it is rather odd that she's miffed in front of Ibuki. Plus, Satsuki's hypnotism in the background also actually works, meaning this must be the rewrite fuckery going on.

More stuff
So far there's no showcase of the Prefect team, Rabbit squad, Arius Squad except Atsuko, Justice Task Force members except Koharu (she never actually join in, did she?), the C&C maids, and plethora of smaller groups that as far as I know, has actually appeared in other PVs since then.

Granted, we can assume that we are being paranoid over this and this is just them highlighting notable ones (Abydos, Game Dev kids + Seminar, Make-up Club and Hyakkiyako) and oddities (Why Shanhaijing girls? and why the Highlanders?) and saving budget and time rather than focusing on them all, but you could imagine their role has been reduced significantly that they just never do anything to fit the rewrite.
