This. I'm a pretty big X user for following sports and a lot of my feed is at least cross posting.

Blue sky has a few things going for it right now.

1. No ads (that can't last)

2. Doesn't suppress links so it is more like 2014 Twitter. in theory you can discover a bunch of cool articles to read. Sports Journos really like that

3. People can create "Starter packs" of accounts you can follow with one click, or pick and choose from which helps onboarding. So if you follow the NFL you follow an NFL Journo starter pack and you're set.

4. You can choose how replies are sorted - newest, most liked, random _ so it's not first whoever gave Elon money. Saw a Mina Kimes clip that described replies on X as "like Reddit sorted by most down votes" and that is what X replies are like.

I won't use Bsky because it's a insufferable hugbox. I don't think it's going to crash and burn quickly like we all hope. It takes time for purity spirals to ramp up to Resetera levels

100%. This is also why the hot tub streamers were a big problem for Twitch. You can't have serious discussions with political impact... next to titty pictures. You can't aim ads for household products or medications at 13-year-old boys. At the bare minimum, it prevents women from taking your platform seriously. Women are a majority of consumer spend so you have no advertising future if chicks log on, see trannies shilling their OF, and log off to go back to Pinterest. You can't even the balance out the Force by promoting gay male stars for lady eyeballs, because gay males are a louder constituency than horny women at all times for visual mediums. The only winning move, if you want to run a business, is to stamp that shit out toot sweet and shut down the sexy pool. It's why Patreon and Substack cut that shit out so quickly. Twitter should have done so too, but they had the advantage of being text-based for a long time and therefore less exploitable. Now that every SM platform is pictures and videos, they're all vulnerable to titties.

I've interacted with the type of person you described and they do not feel alienated by their exclusionary behavior at all, they are more than happy to instantly cut off communication with you the instant you disagree with them. They feel like letting you talk to them is a rare, treasured privilege they get to revoke. They do, in fact, view themselves as members of an unspoken aristocracy and they're not self aware at all.

They won't. they thrive on activity and just their own hugbox won't be enough to satisfy them. I have seen a lot Twitter accounts with a Blsky in their name. But the internet is fragmenting more and more. Bluskeet will most likely thrive for a while until they realize WHAT kind of people their main userbase is. Rule of thumb to understanding the types of people now flooding BlueSky is that all of them are mentally ill/delusional in some way, they will gladly speak badly and make up shit against their so called "enemies" in a vain attempt to discredit them, but at the same time will worship anything that aligns or enables their own twisted ideals.
That's why you see all these people showering praises to BlueSky and claiming it is a wholesome welcoming space for them because the site is run by idiots that can't/won't moderate their site accordingly, so you end up with the present user base that complains about politics, harbors sexual content without some kind of filter, and, by far the worst aspect, gives a platform for degenerates to promote their twisted vices such as pedophilia, grooming and sexual exploitation.
