While possible, I think corpos will not go to Bluesky en masse for one very key reason: the blocklists. You can bet that every corporate account that goes active there will 100% end up on an anti-spam/anti-corporate blocklist. And given the composition of the site, you can bet a large majority of the users will sub to this blocklist by default.

Why migrate to a site where 90% of your content is likely blocked when Twitter still exists and has a far greater reach?

1) While the loss of ad spam is unfortunate, losing the ability to lie and censor dissidents can be devastating. The addition of community notes has been a thorn in the side of not just a pundit or a party head, but corporation that get noted for lying about shit.

2) They aren't thinking rationally. We are talking about people that literally fucking cried because trump won. The entire party is in full panic mode, and like a cornered beast it's lashing out in every direction. The factions in these companies are pushing a bluesky move for now, but once those blocklists do happen there's likely to be a scism. Or they try to pressure the team at bluesky directly.

I think bluesky will eventually be part of a power grab. They want to hopefully increase bluesky and decrease twitter enough that continuing to use twitter will be seen as a political take, which is their usual M.O. with things like kiwifarms and alt-media.

I realized it when Xbox went to bluesky. The HR goblins and the DEI pushers are still very high up in the chain of command. Twitter fired them all, but other companies have not moved so fast. They realized they lost this last election because their incompetency could be broadcast on twitter, so they are going to use all their remaining reach to kill it with a corpo backed alternative, or at least hurt it as much as possible before a 2028 run.

It's not a centralized place in terms of the protocol. They can only ban you from Bluesky's appview, but if you hosted your own appview they couldn't ban you from your own server.

Yes, but if you hosted your own appview it wouldn't be Bluesky anymore. Even if you put up records for replies to other people, if Bluesky ignores it then it's not a part of Bluesky. You could make Kiwisky on ATP, but it'd be not much more a part of Bluesky than KF is a part of Bluesky now. Other than the design probably involving the PDSes, but you get my point, protocol != platform
