The CSAM spam is probably not coming from genuine bluesky users, unless it is referring to lolicon hentai - as far as I know, that is also not allowed on bluesky and may be put into the same category as IRL shit.
The question still on my mind is, do these people truly believe the shit they are saying? It's crazy to me that there is such a hard split on the perception of objective reality nowadays, and Bluesky being an echo chamber will only make it worse.
When I go on my x feed, I see MAGA posts, but I also see accounts shitting on Trump cabinet picks and even pushing the conspiracy that Musk hacked voting machines using Starlink... how could that be, if Musk is suppressing left wing accounts? Bluesky is the platform where, allegedly, "a billionaire can't decide who can and can't have free speech", yet their rules are stricter and enforced only in one direction, like the twitter of old - and all you see is a skewed left wing perspective.
It's hard for me to believe that so many people would just knowingly lie and deny objective reality, but it really seems to be the case. I still hold out hope that they are just misinformed and trapped in a cult mentality that prevents them from getting a complete picture of reality, but, if that is the case, what pathway would a leftie on bluesky even have to "redemption"? They are so socially isolated that leaving their political echo chamber would leave them with no support structure, especially now that people are disowning their family members for not being a true believer. Do they know in the back of their minds that, if they want out of this radical hate machine, they will make themselves a target?
I worry about the future. As fun as it is to laugh at retards on bluesky - and it is absolutely hilarious - I can't help but feel that this is an unsolvable problem that will inevitably lead to more violence down the line.
