Angel investors tap former CEO of a famous social media app to be its "creator"
Mainstream media articles immediately start popping up claiming its the next big social media app, & that everyone who is anyone is using it
Influencers (many who often have same management team) all flock to said app and & enthusiastically promote it
App seems to be run by skeleton crew/very few mods to save money, & subsequently is full of problematic shit: violent porn, Neo Nazis, violent furry porn, ISIS/Hamas/Hezbollah terrorism supporters, animal abuse, wildlife trafficking (animals I saw for sale on Bluesky in no particular order: Sugar Gliders, Caracals, Lynxes, Radiated Tortoises, Sloths, Foxes, Hyenas, Saltwater Crocodiles, as well as yards of Crocodile leather for any fashion designers lacking scruples..)
I guess the Bluesky push is the result of the tech sector sensing an opportunity to profiteer off libsh!ts suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, following the election?

That kind of makes sense. Mastodon is a combination of untamable swamp and sewer, the Muskenfuhrer own Twitter/X and Threads is a creature of Facebook. The purity sprials aren't too out of control (yet) and if a dysfunctional mess like RetardEra can shamble along for years now, banning anyone who even breathes wrong, I don't see any reason why GroomSky can't do the same.
Only thing I'm not seeing (yet) is a path to profit. No ads, no subscriptions, etc. But in their favor they've not larded the company up yet with the useless staff cluttering up Twitter, though I did see something about a "greatly expanded" safety team recently.
As a complete aside, can somebody post how you find out if you're blocked on the site/how many lists you're on, etc. I didn't go full A&N on the site (yet) but I did make fun of the Harris campaign spending a billion dollars in a losing cause. Kind of curious to see if that gets me Gulag'd.
