Something that’s also confusing me is consent isn’t hard to write, it’s as simple as just saying the character consents and they just do. You can still write them nervous or hesitant or confused, but still wanting it. I genuinely cannot fathom getting off to someone actually screaming and crying and thrashing to get out of someone’s grasp, like I almost don’t believe it and feel like I have to see it to believe it. Like I just can’t imagine real people like that exist and aren’t in insane asylums.

To be fair, I don't think there's any data showing that very common fetishes like CNC (basically simulated rape) and other BDSM-adjacent things are really an issue inherently, so I don't care much, most people into these things probably keep quiet about them, remember you are always seeing the tip of the iceberg, the biggest freaks, but under them there's probably a big list of ordinary people who happen to have a weird kink.

I'd much rather have a platform that's as open as possible, as soon as you start adding restrictions other restrictions pile up. Of course real rape (as in, a video of a real person being raped) is indefensible, as someone is being harmed, but I'd much rather live in a world with CNC than a world without it. Not that bluesky is the cradle of anti censorship, quite the opposite, but I can't help but agree with these freaks but for different reasons.

Fun fact: Tumblr was, for almost a decade, that "open as possible" platform. Do you wanna know the reason why Tumblr had to ban porn? It's because it's moderation was so lax that self-produced CSAM was basically omnipresent, and they lacked those hashes and safeguards that Twitter and Facebook had to detect known CP. BlueSky get what it absolutely frickin deserves. Stick to Fediverse for your degenerate bullshit with no moderation if that's your thing. Of course, what I stated is an ideal, ideally you should allow degenerate harmless fiction without allowing illegal or harmful things through, it may not be possible, but it's what I think we should strive for in an ideal world, unfortunately we don't live in one.

Do I think such things should be thought crimes? No, but this is where social pressure comes into play rather than legal pressure: it doesn't have to be illegal for it to be fucking nasty and for others to ostracize you as a result. Sometimes the only cure is 25mg of FAFO per oral two times a day before meals.

I recognize the complexities of trauma on the psyche and sympathize heavily with victims who didn't come back quite right from the precipice of the terrible things they've gone through, but 1) you are not required to spread your kink-based mind-virus to other people online and 2) most Bluesky rape fetish consumers and creators are not victims of anything serious enough to explain their interests. The picture with just "DOG KNOT" when zoomed out looked like a South Park scene for a good while and it absolutely killed me. I love how just so blatant it is and yet I'm supposed to believe that that user is a victim of government censorship on a site where you can stumble on this without even thinking. The post chain about people having to relive their trauma by explaining it is confusing as shit. Wouldn't you relive it by drawing it or even giving the option to draw it a thought? This makes no sense on any level. Any excuse is good enough for these people to justify whatever they want. I think they think that when they draw or write about these things, they look like the victimized PTSD children who are so mind broken that the event that caused their trauma is all they can draw. I remember seeing something like that with children from Europe after WW2. Except I don't think the kids were showing step by steps and WIPs of them drawing a scene where their homes are getting bombed out and people are getting turned into smears on the pavement.

Again a lot of this just screams low self esteem. No shred of self worth so the only worth they see themselves as is being a degraded slab of meat only for fucking. When you start feeling better about yourself you start to see that all of this is just cope and a response. It would be sad if they weren't fighting so hard to make this a legitimate movement. Sometimes employees and even companies just need to suck it up. bluesky was pretty much founded for a specific user base and if they do not serve that userbase they're fucked and they will lose their shirts. they invited the crazies in and now they need to cater to them; you can go a very long time with a decent enough sized userbase with a platform that doesn't follow social norms because either A those people agree with you or B your userbase doesn't care.
 
It's a looniebin trying to repaint itself as better than it actually is.
While I appreciate the containment, it's non sustainable. These people don't have disposable income and the site can't survive on no cashflow.
They will leak into other sites and it's gonna be annoying.
