You're right: normal people do not use Bluesky. But as for its general populace, I would say as of December 2025, these are the kinds of people most likely to be presently active on there:

• Writers of the #OwnVoices type (i.e., insufferable champagne socialists who use their racial and sexual demographics as key marketing points to their books because they can't fucking write);
• Animators who get wicked diaper rash every time a new Disney project is released because they are still malding over Gravity Falls and The Owl House despite encroaching their 40s;
• Comickers of both the traditional comicking industry (DC/Marvel/Image/IDW/etc.) and the online comicking industry (HiveWorks, Webtoons);
• Pornographers, especially really degenerate ones (who are now starting to crawl back to Xitter because Bluesky cracked down on all the dogrape porn);
• Anyone who needs smelling salts should they so much as hear any word ending in "ump";
• Furries - but specifically homosexual male furries who think that showing a hyper-rendered photo of their sagging, vertical anuses does not merit any sort of warning because "Bluesky was built by furries."

So, yeah, definitely nobody normal on there. Once in a while you'll come across a totally milquetoast Boomer liberal who is clearly trying to wade past all of the transanity to look at pictures of cute cats and beautiful vistas, but it's really dominated by the terminally online and obsessively horny.

This honestly depends on your definition of worse, but I would rate Reddit over Bluesky by sheer virtue of its age and online omnipresence. Like Tumblr, Reddit has been the breeding ground for a lot of horrible troonacy that has made actual social and legislative change and has an atmosphere that invites regular users to become entrenched and escalative the longer that they spend on there. You don't hang around on Reddit for long without encountering some douchebag with pronouns, and if you've spotted one, you know your sub must be downright lousy with them already.

Bluesky simply doesn't have the reach that Reddit has, nor will it ever - as I said, normal people don't go on Bluesky, and if they do, it's not really for very long. However, normal people do go on Reddit and stay on Reddit. And the longer they stay on Reddit, the higher the likelihood of catching the T-virus becomes. Having combed through enough post histories during my deep dives, you'd be creeped out to see how many older accounts started out as very dull and innocuous before descending into madness.

Blueskiers are end-stage; there's no real risk of contagion on Bluesky because either you've already succumbed to it or you're somehow capable of being exposed to them without contraction. Blueskiers are also, interestingly enough, less prone to tranny evangelism - as in, if they sense you're not one of their kind, rather than try and welcome you into the fold, they will reject you. They are not open to any kind of egg-cracking that isn't already underway by the time they encounter their prospective victims, which is different from Redditors who are eager to gain new members. It's just a different cultural attitude all around.

Apologies for the autism; I've just spent enough time lurking both platforms to realize that they are two different strains of shithole and thus attract different kinds of lunatics. Also, everyone on both Bluesky and Reddit is fat and no one should have sex with them.

I won't judge which is worse but I know I'm more bitter about reddit. Reddit was a relatively useful and interesting place before niggers/faggots/consoomers/children overran it, while troonsky was pozzed from day one.

Sadly I still get use out of reddit. There are several large communities of enthusiasts that help keep me up to date and teach me all sorts of tricks. I've just accepted that I have to make a new account every so often because eventually a tranny admin will get his fee fees hurt. It is a tragedy that reddit has swallowed most of the small forums.

Bluesky however is complete garbage. My "For You" feed is political agitation bots, mentally ill political agitators (there is a slight difference), dumb sportsball news, a few communist US Representatives, and several news outlets pushing more bread and circuses. Any attempt at discussion just gets me blocked and put on lists with names meant to insult. I think I found a grand total of two based accounts, but one of which has all of his posts hidden behind an "intolerance" warning, even the uncontroversial ones. Bluesky is absolutely worthless.

Anyone know if there's a way or workaround to search for bsky posts that are replying to, or quoting, a specified user? The to/mentions/@ search operator does not work for this, and neither does including the username in the query. I couldn't find anything in the API documentation for search.
