He often came across as very arrogant, and had a tendency to go off on extremely bitter, unpleasant rants, like when he went off about how much he hated the Scream franchise in the Scream 4 review, but I could tolerate it. I think it was when I discovered his Twitter that I came to absolutely loathe him.

I think when Bob goes into rant mode, he thinks he's being some kind of acerbic comedian, but he just doesn't have the charisma to pull that off, so it's just unpleasant and distasteful.

I used to give the left the benefit of the doubt when comparing them to Bob. Always assuming he was repeating their sentiments, but with his own brand of viciousness sprinkled in because he needs to not just win, but destroy the opposition with violence and humiliation. Many prominent lefties at the time seemed disgusted by him, but refused to openly do so and I chalked that up as just not wanting to give 'the wrong people' ammunition, like when Lindsay 'apologized' to Bob.

I still think that's the case for the majority, but there's always that vocal minority that likes to ruin things for everyone else.
