I've been taking a break for other, more important things, but it's good to see that there's literally nothing new going on with Bob lately. You really don't miss much if you have to step out for a bit!
On the topic of the Superman trailer, I'm not surprised that he's doing his usual dicksucking of Gunn and taking an undeserved victory lap around his nemeses in the Snyder Cult. I found Drinker's analysis to be much more level-headed, where he said that while he had some reservations with how Gunn's typical style might translate to Superman, he was remaining open-minded about it and hoping that his concerns wouldn't pan out (like being unable to resist having a whole ensemble of wacky characters). Funny how many of the people that Bob hates so much are actually a hell of a lot more thoughtful than he is.

Whether religions are the basis of morality is open to question. I used to think they are not; now I think they indeed are, because the alternative is to assume that humans have an
a priori "moral sense" that doesn't strike me at likely at all. At any rate, living a truly moral life is very difficult without religion; it is like playing with a handicap. If the "basis of morality is really very simple", then why do so many people fail to behave morally?
Y'know, I really wouldn't look for thoughts on morality from a man who ran off to Sri Lanka to fuck boys for the rest of his life. Just saying.

Bobby perceives there is a culture war between the fans of
Sonic and
The Lion Stinks, and this is eating him alive.

What cartoon doesn't have a "freakishly porn-brained fandom" nowadays? The fandoms of Bobby's beloved Rat shit are the worst.
It's hilarious to me that Bob, a man who has made his hero worship of Mario a cornerstone of his entire identity, cannot wrap his feeble mind around why kids like Sonic and his world. He's a cool guy who runs fast and saves the day with his friends, that's really all kids need to enjoy. Likewise, kids like Shadow because he's a cool guy who runs fast and saves the day by breaking the rules a bit. They're incredibly basic archetypes that kids are instantly able to grasp.
Bob is dumber than a literal child, is what I'm saying.
I checked out the Big Watch.
All I can say is, for a guy who loved the premise of MST3K so much, you'd think he'd have done more practice for his big moment of making one himself. Instead his commentary comes off as so inoffensive and boring. Bob's xweets/other social media mantrums gave us a glimpse into how depraved his inner mind was (seriously even the genocidal tyrants of old knew what a "stopping point" was for their manifestos) while TBW shows us how milquetoast and mundane he is in real-life interactions, even during his favorite hobby of watching movies. I suspect his frustration comes from wanting to be seen and recognized as this amazing, brilliant, deep person with all the references and filmmaking knowledge he has, which nobody else seems impressed by- and it's eating him inside. In real life it makes him completely unrelatable and abnormal. It's also worth noting that Bob started his videos during the age of the 10-minute time limit and the lack of enforced brevity has not done him any favors. I doubt many people will be interested in sitting through over an hour of him being a smart-ass. Even he gives up on it and just starts talking about mainstream superheroes as usual. It's not grade school anymore Bob, how about changing the subject?
Bob wants to look good and get easy access to women without having to leave his comfort zones. He's both a dictator and a cool-guy, stuck in the body of an obese man-child.
We saw him attempt this once before, except it was with Chris and Sara and they were watching a video game playthrough instead. It went over like a lead balloon and he seemed to have shelved the idea for good...but I guess not anymore. You would think he would have realized this was a bad idea, but apparently not.
Since you mentioned MST3K, it's worth noting how much of an impact the show had on Bob; remember, Bob's username for a long time was "mst3kmario" or something like that. I think he's wanted to follow in its footsteps for a long time with his own videos (when he's not dreaming about his big shot Hollywood job), but since it's Bob, all he can really do is a cheap imitation without understanding why they were successful.
MST3K was a team effort of a bunch of actual comic writers who would spend long hours watching and rewatching the same bad movie until they had enough jokes to fill its entire runtime (the earlier stuff was more improv and freeform, but pretty much everyone agrees it got better when they planned things out more). Sometimes the jokes would be obscure as hell, but they'd throw them in anyway, partly because they still needed to fill time and partly because the few people that would get them would really appreciate them. But most importantly, the jokes were actually funny. The whole process would take days of effort, of writing, rewriting, filming, and editing.
Bob, meanwhile, thinks he can do the same thing without putting in anywhere near as much work. He does it all off the cuff, so he's having to rely on whatever he remembers about the movie offhand (or possibly looking stuff up while the movie's on, I don't care to watch and find out). He's nowhere near as quick of a wit as he likes to think he is, so any attempts at telling jokes will fall flat. And he lacks the stamina to actually do this sort of thing for any length of time, so it's no surprise he peters out halfway through and ends up babbling about whatever else is on his mind, namely capeshit.
(I think it's also worth noting that Bob's habit of making obscure references as "jokes" is probably another way he attempts to ape MST3K. Difference being, as mentioned, MST3K's obscure jokes were actually funny. All Bob ends up doing is confusing everyone.)
And of course, Bob is woefully late to the party as usual. RLM showed with Best of the Worst how to do the exact thing Bob's attempting to do, the only difference being BotW is actually good because, as above, they actually put in the effort. They film hours and hours of footage, from the raw footage of watching the movies and cracking jokes to their roundtable discussions afterward. They pare out all the boring stuff that nobody would actually want to see, even pointing out to fans who ask them to upload the full movie watching sections that it's nowhere near as interesting as they think. They properly edit it all down to a still long but entertaining video. And again, very importantly, they're actually funny.
In the end, Bob is a very, very lazy man who wants success without having to put in the work to get it. I look forward to this venture failing too.
