Moviebob released Part 3 of his "Hype for SuperGunn" Big Picture mini-series. It's every bit the trainwreck the previous two is. His videos are such a task to get through, he has trouble getting 20,000 views anymore, and is rapidly set on joining FemFreq and TGWTG has-beens in complete irrelevancy. The video just comes off as a press-release disguised as a thinkpiece. He also talks about how great the Obama Administration Era was and how it coincided with the MCU golden-age.
I could almost interpret this as, first of all, historical revisionism. I've watched Moviebob during 2008-2016 and he wasn't loving it back then. He was filled with rage about how Nintendo no longer ruled the roost in gaming and UGH, there was a DELUGE of grimdark military FPS games with slur-shouting multiplayer fanbases, yearly sports games, awful mobile games, and the like. As well as Michael Bay on the movie side and other filmmakers of his ilk. He was nostalgic for the 1980s at the time and too wistful about it to enjoy Nintendo hands-down winning the Wii and DS era and being FLUSH WITH CASH!!!1! until the Wii U bombed and it was too little, too late.
The second thing of note is that he apparently preferred the Obama Years MCU, which would mean a more pre-woke MCU? That's not what you've been saying for the past SEVERAL years Bob, I thought representation, color, wackiness, and upsetting your online enemies, all of which are all things from more recent times, were what mattered! Now he's nostalgic for wholesome movies with Boy Scout Superman and Old-School OG All White Avengers? Really turning on a dime on that one in order to shill. I would joke about how Bobs Iger, Chapek, and Chipman are all movie executives, because he sure does act like it.

Bob is only saying that shit either because he had a love boner for Joss Whedon (who is just if Bob actually succeeded in getting into the film industry) or he doesn't want to say that he likes Trump-era MCU since he was soying out over Thor Ragnarok, and the Avengers films that came in that time period. Though really saying any film or whatever is great because of who is the leader of a country is just really dumb.
But if Bob is really shilling for wholesome movies, that is ironic given he wanted edgy Mario and wants his superhero films to be the new greek mythology like how he also soyed out at an MCU TV show for mentioning the Ship of Theseus. Not to mention Bob loves when filmmakers deconstruct and subvert shit, and unless I am proven wrong, Bob never seemed to revert his stance on that. The only edgy shit Bob doesn't like is FPS games and the DCEU movies which while they can be shit, Bob explicitly hates them because of the fans they have. I recall a long time ago mentioning if Zack Snyder did an MCU movie, Bob would be slobbering all over it.

Its entirely based on what better backs up his personal politics and beliefs in the given moment, or that can help him 'win' internet arguments. Does action being taken help him attack things he doesn't like, or perceptually take them down a notch, make them lesser and let him laugh at them? Then the action is good. Does the action attack his personal beliefs and loves, and allow people to laugh at the stuff he likes? Then the action being taken is bad.
