Pretty much, in the USSR they actually dealt with this by; A. Offering women job education so they wouldn't sell their bodies and instead had degrees and various job openings for 'em; B. Education, since during Tsarist Russia days, women who worked as prostitutes didn't have any form of education at all (as some couldn't even read or write)

This does not excuse the nearly button-popping state of Chippa's own pajama tops, plus the legs on both his and his wifes' pjs are too long, also. Plus they need to be pulled UP. I guess Sara doesn't know how to hem shit?

I don't know who Scott is but he needs to be bullied into tears if he thinks this is a blaze of glory, even more so because he thinks that it is a rhetorical blaze of glory which is fucking stupid.
Scott is a "movie-reviewer" that works for National Public Radio, which is extremely Left-wing. He probably got his TDS from his dad.

This sentence here makes me wonder if Bob is so incensed because his black and white worldview makes him think Mario had "won" when the Dreamcast's wheels came off. To an adult child, a win is an incontrovertible victory that cannot be countermanded, and add in his secular religion that literally doesn't believe in redemption and he might literally think Sonic is a zombie franchise that has no right to be successful because Nintendo "beat" Sega in the '90s.

Never mind that this wasn't even a battle, it was a marketing contest between two companies that had the goal of making their interactive cartoon more profitable than the other. But corpo shills gonna corpo shill.
Oh no, Nintendo's win wasn't enough to satisfy Bob. The fact that Sonic was ever in competition with Mario makes him madder than anything. When he started Game Overthinker, Sega had been out of the console game for years and was relegated to making games for other platforms, which weren't doing well... And he was still raging against the franchise for daring to ever try to compete with Mario. It's like the Snyderverse. It's done and dusted, James Gunn is taking over DC now and rebooting the whole thing, and Bob is still raging against it.

With Sonic, I think a lot of it is cope. Same with his anger towards Playstation and Xbox. He couldn't afford the games everyone loves because he's too incompetent with money, so he just lashes out at others as a way to justify his poor decisions. It's not that he can't afford Mass Effect, it's that if Mass Effect was any good, he'd already have it. People who say their large TVs make going to the cinema not seem as special now are clearly lying because Bob can't buy a large TV and know what it's like. And of course, buying a house is a terrible thing because it ties you to one area, not because Bob will never get close to achieving such a milestone. Hell, fucker can't even afford rent now.

When I was a kid, I had a SNES. Friends would come over to play it, and I'd go to their houses to play Sega. Bob had no friends, and so Sonic is the devil.

Yeah, I'm same as you. I didn't own a non-Nintendo system until I was legally an adult. Sometimes I wished I could play the stuff on other systems (you can't exactly play all of FF7 in one afternoon at a friend's) but I never lashed out at the other franchises because I was a semi-well adjusted human being (there was some spergery...). That explanation makes Bob look even sadder than mine did, but...well like most cows his greatest crime and most deserving punishment is being who he is.

SEGA's problems weren't really caused by their IPs being unpopular, they were mostly caused by an inefficient corporate structure where you had two branches, the US and Japan acting like they had equal decision making power. Which is why you got stuff like the 32X (and the proposed but never released Neptune, well, until recently in Brazil) and the Saturn both coming out. And later signing contracts with two different graphics card manufacturers for the graphics chip in the Dreamcast, causing a breach of contract lawsuit with one of them.

My reason for pointing all this out is because Bob isn't really interested in the business or technology side of SEGA versus Nintendo, only in the pop culture cache of the two companies' characters. Sonic never stopped being popular, SEGA made poor business and technology decisions. (Nintendo made a few of those too, but never to the point they crippled them. They were in the most danger during the GameCube period, but recovered with their strategy during the Wii period. And their handheld consoles, with the exception of the Virtual Boy, destroyed all their competition. SEGA was never really competitive in handhelds.)

And of course, buying a house is a terrible thing because it ties you to one area, not because Bob will never get close to achieving such a milestone. Hell, fucker can't even afford rent now.
His cope over not wanting to be tied down to one spot is so funny. Bros never even live in another part of his (tiny) home state. He never capitalized on his rootless laptop profession, just like he's never capitalized on any other opportunity that came his way. He is truly the obsolete untermenchen.

It is always entertaining to watch Bob impotently rage at Sonic's theatrical success, which speaks to his utter irrelevance as a critic. Factor in his inability to look beyond raw superficial and it is little wonder that he doesn't understand Knuckles and Shadow. Yes, both are rivals and foils to Sonic, but for different reasons. Sonic has long been established as a free spirit driven by his own sense of justice and armed with a caustic wit. Knuckles is bound by duty to protect the Master Emerald so he cannot travel as freely as Sonic. Add in the fact that he hails from a now-extinct warrior race and had no contact with other beings until Sonic 3 & Knuckles, he can also be naive and more literal-minded. Meanwhile, Shadow is more-pathos driven due to the ARK disaster and his struggle is balancing his own darkness with honoring the wishes of his only friend, Maria Robotnik. As such, Sonic's flippant attitude grates on him though the two are capable working toward a common goal.

Honestly, it's not that hard to parse out if one engages with the source material in good faith. Bob will never do that because he doesn't want to admit that the Sonic franchise is more story and character-driven, which is why it's had several beloved animated series and long-running comics under Archie and IDW. Similarly, Sega is better at the social media game with entertaining Twitter takeovers and Tails' Channel. That's not to say Mario is bad. Far from it. Both franchises thrive under different paradigms. Bob is stuck in an archaic "Nintendo vs. Sega" mindset that fizzled out after the Dreamcast died.
Yeah like Sega and Nintendo are both good, but Bob can't comprehend that Sega and Sonic have both gotten more popular overtime. Especially SEGA given the studios they have part of them like RGG and ATLUS which produce popular game series like Yakuza and Persona. Sonic too also got much better games recently and have been making an active effort to improve. Bob is just mentally stuck in the 90s while pretending he isn't.

Another thing though about Knuckles and Shadow is that Knuckles also is a warrior and acts with that mindset while Shadow is more of an edgelord who will willingly play dirty. There is a lot to distinct from the two characters, that Bob's peanut brain can't comprehend.

If Mario had the same storytelling as Sonic games, Bob would be soying out that he'd cause a second great flood.

Really, you can sum it easily in that "Bobbo still thinks hating on Sonic makes him seem kewl", and that's about it.
It really came down to the sonic fanbase, but hating on Sonic fans lost its luster in 2015 when more laughable fandoms like Steven Universe, FNAF, and Bronies were around.

I thought engineers are good at foreseeing system failures?

Mao claimed all prostitutes in China are on the island of Taiwan.
If Chipman retard #2 was capable of foreseeing failure, he wouldn't have tried to pursue a career as an Internet personality after watching his deadbeat older brother fail at the same venture.

Yea the very reason Sega pivoted to making software was because A) it was cheaper, B) it was more lucrative especially in a crowded market, C) Sega outright said they had a vast library of games in order to pull it off, whereas Xbox for example has to rely on how good the Tech is and PS5 can be the Jack of all Trades

Bob seems like the kind of guy who doesnt really understand that Sony is now Nintendo's competition and Sega is a solid ally for them. Kids who like Mario also like Sonic, and Sega has made sure EVERY generation has got a Sonic compilation or remaster to experience the back catalogue before and after major new movies or multimedia pushes

Y'know, Bob's hatred for Playstation is more subdued but I do remember he hated the PS3 and said the first two were flukes. Do you think he views Crash Bandicoot in a negative light? Bob always come off to me as the classic Nintendo fan-turned-vidya critic: he's played a lot of games, but isnt "well-read" on games. A lot of Nintendo fans have never played Crash, Spyro, Thief, Rayman, Final Fantasy, Halo, Timesplitters, Beyond Good & Evil, Uncharted, Jak, Ratchet, GoW, Prince of Persia or really anything with a cult following from either PCs or competing consoles. So their experience of other genres of game is very limited

I'm not surprised he hated Sony, I'm just surprised it was subdued. Nintendo had a lot more problems with Playstation than they did with Sega. You are correct, once Sega went third party, Sonic and some of their other games were a net positive for Nintendo. (Microsoft wanted to outright buy Sega and they did buy Rare later, a big blow to Nintendo.) During the N64 and GameCube periods Nintendo had problems with Sony poaching former exclusives like Resident Evil 4 and Final Fantasy from them. Sony was even grabbing up niche titles like Killer 7.

For Bob though, everything is from when his memories of the thing were most vivid. He was a small child during Nintendo's heyday (despite his desperate claims of being a wise old man) and that's when Mario as a pop-culture figure became important to him, and Sega was doing aggressive anti-Nintendo marketing.

So despite the fact that Sony later did similar anti-Nintendo marketing, he was older then and I think it didn't have as big an effect on him.

Emulation has made this a non-issue for those savvy enough, with homebrew helping with launching ROMs on official hardware. Digital storefronts like Steam and GOG cover a good chunk of PC games, while piracy covers anything not available on digital storefronts. Bob is willfully being ignorant.

Unless it wasn't the purchase that did it, a big blow for everyone, considering what Rare turned into. Everything they're known for is pretty much dead. Most of the staff have probably already abandoned ship, too. One of their games spent most of its time shitting not only on its own characters but the audience for the game as well. They're really not who they used to be, and it's probably a good thing Microsoft took the hit if this was just the natural course for the company to take.

From what I have read and heard Rare actually wanted to be bought by Microsoft after Starfox Adventures was published because Nintendo and Miyamoto were so difficult to work with. They literally made a deal with the devil to avoid continuing to be a second party developer for Big N.

There's also the whole thing about people telling the studio that the design looked like shit and they had the audacity to listen to them. If there's one thing Bob hates it's when fans get what they want. He's firmly on the "auteur" side, always.

I don't think Bob would emulate games. Not out of dislike of piracy, but because I don't think he cares about games that much. I don't think he buys games to play, I think for him a Mario game is like a Mario shirt.

Kind of sounds like nonsense. Rare had every ability to say "no" to the Star Fox thing and continue making their own game, and they would have been able to say no to anything Nintendo wanted afterwards, too. It reminds me of how they have two separate and conflicting reasons/excuses for why they made Conker's Bad Fur Day instead of the game they were originally making.

Not that any of this has anything to do with Rare becoming a bad company by the time Microsoft came into the picture.

Lets be honest, here fat ass is pissed fact that studio listened to Sonic fans. Fatso couldn't give a shit for the "auteur" crap, he only cares if it pisses off people he despises. Like, imagine of the Mario animated movie didn't have the Brooklyn shit, do ya think fat ass would even DARE to complain? Fuck no! He'd sit silently and nod his head.

I feel like you don't even need to play the games or watch the movies to know that this is the case, just look at the character designs. If you go in knowing that Sonic is fast (hence the fucking name), just looking at Knuckles gives off a vibe of a stronger, warrior character as you mentioned. Looking at Shadow, you would not be mistaken to think given the strong resemblance (a literal plot point) that he's either a villainous version of the hero or an antihero who, also like you said, is willing to bend the rules to get what he wants, and both have been the case depending on the game but mostly the latter. These are not new ideas, they have been done many times before including in his beloved Mario games, yet somehow Moviebob's brain is melting trying to distinguish the personality traits behind these two characters apart when their mere appearance should provide enough hints. It's even in their names for fuck's sake.

And feel free to give me a rainbow or two, but I feel like Bob should get used to Sonic earning more money at the box office considering how Mufasa blew its load releasing worldwide last week while Sonic 3 only came out in the majority of the world today, so Sonic still has the worldwide box office not called Canada or the UK to chew on while Mufasa has nowhere to go but down, especially since kids are going to want to see Sonic as well.
