Bob, the eminent cultural scholar of our day, has never heard of the Red Oni, Blue Oni trope. And yes, having seen Sinners (pretty good even if it felt like From Dusk Till Dawn but in the Depression-era South and less goofy), it fits the characters nicely, even if it's not quite as exaggerated as the trope can be. Stack (red) is a more carefree and relaxed type with an implied history of being a fleeting lover, while Smoke (blue) is more reserved and collected with only a single ex (can't remember if it was stated they were married or not). As soon as I saw their outfits, the trope popped into my head, and within five minutes I'd confirmed my suspicions.
