A lot of people forget that Bob used to have genuine fans, who eventually grew out of it and realized what an idiot he was. A large portion of his audience were teenagers who were too young to have been around for Bob's era of gaming, didn't have enough money to buy the games he was talking about, and so assumed he knew what he was doing because he was so confident. And then he talks about something they actually have played, a movie they actually have seen, or a cartoon they grew up on, and the emperor is revealed to be naked.
Remember Bob thinks their best interest is getting him on a space ship and nothing else. Because he is all that matters in the long run according to him.
He has a weird mindset. He is like that kid we all knew who thought they would be rich. Bob thinks he is a part of some elite when he just isn't. Most of the blue collar workers he makes fun of are probably financially better off then him and have better job prospects.
Also about that video. I remember the Movie Bob halo video he said or at least implied that halo was racist.
