Lots of people either self-diagnose for the clout points it gives, or use their legit diagnosis as some kind of cudgel to bash others over the head with, and stop improving as people. And you know what's terrible, more and more analysts and so-called specialists are egging on this kind of attitude. This does a tremendous number in the psyche of certain people that now feel entitled to be pricks and demand the others to understand them because "hurr durr imma autist." I remember you've raise this argument before. Back then I did not respond because it is off-topic to this thread, but as you seem so eager for my response, here it is.

You seem to see schooling as a form of incarceration in which children lose all their freedom and are at the mercy of the schools providing for them. That they lose the freedom to purchase food or bring food in. This is not how I think. I think schooling is a privilege not a deprivation. Education is the school's task; everything else is extra. It is good that some schools can provide additional perks so as to attract "customers" as you put it, but it should not be mandated by the state. In America children are not "forced" to attend school, and places that have such legal requirement, like Britain and Norway, do not mandate free meals at school.


I can't see how being "forced" to put a kid in school somehow absolve parents of responsibility to provide for their children. If any one is "duty bound", it is the parents, not the state. And I simply cannot imagine a scenario in which a family is loving, caring, and providing an intellectually and morally nurturing environment for their children, but for some reason just cannot afford food. No, this doesn't happen in the present day First World. If you really read my comment you would understand that it is my contention that "some food support" simply cannot solve the problems many families have.

(Edit: I'm rash in saying that the scenario does not happen in the First World, because there are cases in which the family's breadwinner is incapacitated by injury or illness.
