Anyone who thinks the Country Music Awards is relevant to the wider culture, let alone actual Country Music is in fact more of an inbred retard than any hick known to man.
While I liked the original Spiderverse (probably the only time Miles Morales & Spider Gwen hadn't completely sucked), the fact that anyone working on it thought that this was a detail worth adding in sets off so many alarm bells, that even if I had hope in modern cinema, I'd be completely turned off of seeing this flick.
Have you ever had that feeling when you read something, that the author has said something you always knew, but they say it in away that takes that vague feeling and crystallizes it for you? The last week, I was visiting my home country, and me and my cousin were talking about literature. I've been on a Southern Gothic kick for a while now (watching horrible things happen to crazy lunatics as a genre probably explains how I wound up on the farms), and I gave my cousin a book I have that's a collection of Flannery O'Connor short stories and included in the book were a couple of her letters published, between O'Connor and various people, usually regarding her faith but she has a line that sums up why I find Bob so detestable.

While saying Bob is of the devil might be a tad overblown, I think that the idea of having nothing in him that resists evil is something I found really resonated with my thoughts on Bob. There is nothing about Bob that springs to mind that is a particularly redeeming quality. What does Bob bring to the table? He's a douche bag who fails at providing meaningful insight into film which is his alleged profession. His analysis of culture is staggeringly poor when it isn't completely insane, and he has such a needlessly belligerent personality that he manages to be one of the most productive cows despite the public internet at large having no idea who the fuck he is, except when he graces us all with retarded and easily avoidable controversies.
And while she wasn't talking about film criticism, I think her critique could easily applied to the idiots like Bob who think that because they are "the right kind of critic" that their spastic takes are worth a shit.

Not to derail the the actually important discussion of the Super Mario Bros movie but Bob defeated any argument he has for paying off student loan debt.

However, assuming he did, how's that any different than what Bob did at his diploma mill community college? How that different from any other idiot who spends $80k on an associates of the arts?

That quote is from about 20 seconds from the first minute of his review. He is soooooooooooooooooo tired to the point of sounding like he doesn't even care, like the movie that he was waiting for his "entire life", his words, didn't fulfill him in any way shape and form and he HAS to put on a strong face lest the Sega shitheads win.
The only other thing of note is that he declares that "everyone knew that Jack Black would kill it as Bowser and it feels like a foregone conclusion that people practically demand that Seth Rogan and the other Kong actors get their own spin off because all of the monkey stuff is just a riot, briliant decision to include that" and I don't believe that he believes himself, just by his tone of voice.
Remember like a week or two ago when I talked about how people stopped watching him because he was faking his emotion/passion? This is the faithful, at least more faithful than the '93 movie, adaptation of the most defining ANYTHING in his life. His only book was made specifically (I know half of it's his autobiography) about Super Mario Bros 3. The first dedication in it is to Shigeru Miyamoto for "Saving my life, more times than he knows." and that's before the Lesser Brother and his sister, before ma and pa Chipman, and before Meemaw.
He has more Nintendo themed clothes than he has dress shirts. He is so dripping with Mario that he owns a Super Mario themed sports coat.
...and the best the Lord of Lynn has to offer up to his god is "Yeah it's good though I can't really articulate how nor can I be bothered to".

It was done by Ilumination, a company he hates, animated which was not the medium HE wanted, and to add more to this. It was good enough that it will justify making more out of this instead of a remake from the 93 film, which he defended. All of this comes down to one reason why it didn't fufill him; Ego. Bob cannot accept he was wrong, nor will he accept that a film series that HE HATES has better reception than his beloved Wahoo Man..
He rather be miserable, and bitter about it than accepting it he was wrong, and embrace what came onto him.
