Anyone remember the webcomic Questionable Content? In the early years, after work the characters would constantly get together to drink, going through a lot of booze. Readers pointed out that they seemed to drink excessively, but Jeph, the author, didn't think there was an issue because that was about how much he drank and he was fine. And then later he lost his first wife because of his alcoholism and he had to get into a program.

To me, that's Bob and twitter. And also booze and soda, going by the amount of cans he used to have stacked up.

I disagree somewhat. I can see him requiring years to beat Mario Bros. 3, especially on the NES. I also don't believe he was bullied, but I can see him being somewhat fond of the Marvel drivel.

That's the stupid thing, he's openly admitted to being that phony, a poser, and not really diving deep into the genres and hobbies he supposedly loves, only championing the corporations for their victories and pretending he's a part of it. But he rationalizes this as making him a better fan because he doesn't need to play video games, he just needs to know that Mario is good and FPS games are bad, and that will always be true no matter what because it's what he believes. He doesn't need to understand anything about the film making process because to him it's irrelevant and he only needs to invent bullshit that makes him sound smart. And he doesn't need to know anything about science because he knows that all we need is to give NASA and unlimited budget and he'll be flying around in his space ship in a robot body.

It's what makes him so infuriating, though it also gives us some of his funniest moments.
