Add onto that Carrie Fisher dying before the third movie and Kathleen Kennedy's executive meddling and Disney Wars was doomed from the start.

Maybe I'm naive, but I feel like there was a time when movies were created with a singular vision in mind, a clearly laid out path from start to finish, and a reasonable budget suited to their needs. I also feel like the "multiple choice" method that Disney likes is not in fact a "VALID creative decision," but a cynical attempt to focus group the hell out of everything to have the broadest appeal, and in the process create the blandest entertainment possible. Not only that, but without these movies being guaranteed hits and money flowing freely, a bomb is all the costlier and a bloated budget becomes a liability. As we've seen with The Marvels, this methodology clearly isn't a winner anymore.

(I would like to point out that, while these movies have never been cheap to produce, earlier on their budgets were more in the ballpark of $150 million, as opposed to every single fucking movie costing $250 million or more to produce these days.)

There are no tangible continuity between most of the films and Disney+ series aside from WandaVision/Doctor Strange: MoM, Loki/Ant-Man & The Wasp Quantumania, and what's going on with Elaine from Seinfeld. Hell, that petrified Celestial from Eternals was scarcely even referenced. I see only disparate threads and cameos, but no real connective tissue that we had in the first three phases. Kang is a non-entity who lacks the presence of Thanos and frankly, the original Black Panther and Captain Marvel films showed that I could miss certain films with missing something important. Post-Endgame MCU is basically a shambling corpse of a franchise.

His patreon has stopped declining so rapidly, his mother won't kick him out, and he can still pretend he's better than other nerds because he's a movie critic.

Interesting observation on both fronts, his Patreon finally stabilizing, and the moment he started giving up. Most would be happy for a second chance. Not Blobby. He felt resentment they stuck him in the same place he always was. Kinda Bobby's fault for never changing.
