Hasn't Miyazaki also stated in a few interviews that part of the reason for his returns to the industry was because of his grandchildren being born and he wanted to make films for them? It isn't exactly odd that older people, especially grandparents or even older people who become parents, to want to give the children in their lives memories of who they were in their youth since they likely only have memories of them being older human beings. I remember Bill Goldberg saying that among the many reasons why he returned to the WWE despite previously saying he never would was because his son never got to see a live match of him performing.

Because Bob is a lazy deadbeat, he doesn't understand that even though a lot of people enjoy having a break from work, many of them also hate not having it in their lives and will go stir crazy just sitting at home most days. They want things to occupy their time and their minds.

Bob's hatred of Miyazaki probably stems from a few things. The first one being that Miyazaki is someone who is successful at his choice of art and has maintained a lot of influence in the industry as well as a huge fanbase. Something Bob is the exact antithesis of in all of those regards.

No, that's a good question.

I'd say the first thing to understand about Robert is he's a bootlicker. He gloms onto whatever authority figure he thinks can give him what he wants and supports them wholeheartedly. He's not strong, charismatic, or smart enough to get what he wants on his own, and deep down, he's aware of this. It's why he sucks Disney's rat dick, no matter what: they give him his slop to consume. It's why he supports anyone who he thinks will attack the right-wing Christofascist caricature in his head. In his own book, he admits to trying to suck up to bullies because he wanted to be part of their clique, but even they rejected him. Imagine not being able to bootlick the school bullies.

Next thing to understand is Bob is a pathetic excuse of a human. He'll never admit to it, but there's a reason he absolutely must comment on every little thing on Xitter: it allows him to present the illusion that he's better. It lets him pretend to be smarter, stronger, and superior to other people. It's why he falls back on his "You are not a person" cope before blocking anyone who outwits him: he has no comeback and he knows it. He is nowhere near as smart, tough, strong, and brave as he presents himself.

He prides himself in "outwitting" the psychologist, which made him think he's smarter than he is. In truth, such therapy relies on "buy-in" from the patient: you have to want to be cured. The psychologist probably realized Bob didn't want to be cured and played along to get an easy pay day.
