Wow Bob. Just...wow.

Honestly the fact that he expects people to know who Nester was is just sad. For you whipper snappers out there: Nester was a character that appeared in comics on Nintendo Power, Nintendo's game magazine. I'm pretty sure that Nester was phased out from the magazine as time went on (not sure if they did, i never bought a single Nintendo Power issue).

Don't worry Bob. Your year will be much better...
...
Oh who the fuck am I kidding. No Bob. Your new year is only going to get worse with how you treat people who disagree with you.

I think he's sperging about one of his latest videos on Screwattack where he was talking about his Top 10 most Wanted Amiibos. I didn't watch the thing but I saw there was a pic of Master Higgins, so I'm guessing Nester was in there too.

So, to that end... Bob- Nester was a character from Nintendo Power magazine. The only game he had was a bowling game. And second, they aren't going to make a Nester or Master Higgins amiibo because Nintendo isn't making a Nester or Master Higgins game. Chances are we'll see a Bayonetta figure before either of them, but look at the bright side- then you can bitch about that and maybe have Anita look in your direction for a few seconds before you get back to working on your ever-expanding chin.

Also stating that the comics industry survived through the zeal of fans who cared about its history? Son, look at where comics are now. Marvel and DC saw that big green dollar sign in the sky and sold out their history about a decade ago. Not saying I like it, but better to admit the comics industry is a hosed up crock of shit rather than pretend it's still 1993 and comics still bothered with innovation rather than quick cash-outs.

Sure, Bob, we don't care at all about gaming history. That's why we don't have Wasteland II, the new Tex Murphy Adventure, countless Doom reboots-oh wait, you're just orgasming over some obscure Nintendo character again, aren't you?

Surprised he hasn't changed his twitter avatar back. The French terror attacks ceased to be the flavor of the week a while ago.

Edit: Late.

Let me guess, he has a hateboner for "dudebro" games like Halo and CoD, and Xbox Live was launched in late 2002, so maybe he hates 2003 because he probably became aware of Xbox Live on that year, and in his mind those games stole Nintendo's spotlight or some retarded bullshit like that.

His hatred for FPSes is really autistic, to the point of calling Metroid Prime a "halo clone" just because it has a first-person perspective.

Remember his adage about the 90s sucking? One of the things that made the 90s suck was the comic industry focusing on making shit comics and call them collectors edition. This meant that the only reason why the comics industry survived was because people were too dumb to realize that the comics they bought were garbage.

Nester eventually vanished sometime around the upper double digits of the magazine releases (I know, was an avid reader back in the day), which happened around the time Nintendo Power abandoned it's old colorful approach and the magazine got more formal looking and more neutral toned as the N64 and onward era occurred.

Also, Nester was a bit of a lolcow character from what I remember, so the fact MovieBob spergs over him is just hilarious.

Sperging over Nester being some kind of transcendental character is at least one of the top 5 most pathetic things I've seen from Moviebob.

What kind of retard cares about Nester? Jaxxon the Green Star Wars Rabbit has more artistic and cultural value.

Bob was between 10 and 12 when the first issue of Nintendo power came out (I think). Let's say that when the N64 it was around a hundred issues in. Bob was either 18 or 20 when Nester was removed. He is now 34 or more.

He seriously expects people to remember a character whose entire purpose was to be a mascot of sorts from decades ago. From an age where dozens of game magazines existed.

What kind of exceptional individual cares about Nester?

Bob Chipman, thats who. He's becoming Nintendo's answer to Sega's Chris Chan.

Bob is a fucking tard, who shouldn't throw rocks in a glass house. Industry knows its roots very well, since it is young enough to have many of its pioneers still working with it. Fans, same thing. There are gamers who started back in the 80s or early 90s. Gaming “journalism” on the other hand is mainly saturated by people who have very narrow viewpoint on gaming and know next to nothing about its history in the grand scale. Bob is a prime example of this. Does he have Amiga or C64 stashed somewhere? When is the last time he fired up DOSBox and played some of 90s classics? Bob’s view of gaming history is hilariously limited to Nintendo products.

This is the main problem of gaming history. Many of the people behind classic video games are still here and can be interviewed by almost anyone willing to do so. There are actual books about the history of videogames, written by competent authors. But in the end it is the foaming manchildren like Bob, who cannot separate facts from their childhood trauma that get the uneducated audience, because they don't let boring facts get in the way of a Twitter rant.

So like, Master Higgins is that grass skirt and baseball cap wearing guy from Adventure Island right? Ok so there are several problems with wanting an amiibo of him
-I don't think he's been in a game in years
-He's owned by Hudson Soft (which doesn't exsist anymore and I don't know who bought the rights to the series)
-Talk about fucking obscure bullshit, at least Kid Icarus was one of the first black box NES games and they had plans for another game when they put Pit in Smash (which they made and it was really good seriously) I only know Adventure Island because I had some weird Chinese bootleg cart with it.
-How utterly random, does Master Higgins resonate with Bob because he's a fat guy who dies if he doesn't eat fruit constantly?

Bob doesn't seem to remember that a lot of the games back then where mediocre or shit. if movieblob knew his history rather than just his fan-wank he'd know that Adventure island was a knock of port of Sega's Wonderboy (which is remembered with a degree of nostalgia and deference) and was a 3 out 5 sort of game. That's why nobody gives a shit about it unlike Halo. Also I doubt anyone who wasn't a nintendo fanboy who also read nintendo power has even heard of Nester even in that period anymore than bobs heard of megadroid, Unlike say Sonic (pre 5th gen) , Mario or Pacman who are actual cultural icons with groundbreaking games.
Bob should take the nostalgia glasses off and get some context. his experience is not everyone's experience. I doubt anyone cares that I really liked Phantasy star 4, Quackshot and Shining force and no ones obligated too anymore than they're somehow wrong for liking Pokemon cartoons and have never heard of The Dream Stone.
