Chris said on the Catie date that Bob wanted to be buried with the wallet that the troop he was scout master of made for him.

Instead Barb had him cremated.

Those are his ashes in there, not his corpse, and I wrote that on the CWCki a while ago.
why not just put the ashes in the wallet #problemsolved

When Chris passes away, the weens are going to compete to see who will get the honor to be the Chandler equivalent of the Poe visitor. Every Christian Love Day, the Chandler visitor will visit his grave and leave behind a large McDonald's sweet tea and healthy McWrap for our fallen LOL cow.

I was about to agree, but we both know it's going to be a can of Orange Fanta.

I would like to volunteer to pay for Chris's burial urn.

I would think that double-interment and cremation was always the plan. When Chris is executed by the state, his final resting place will be taken care of.

This kinda hits me in the feels: poor old Bob, he had his issues, but, based on some of the things we've seen, it looks like he at least made an effort to actually parent Chris (despite doing things like hiring friends for him). Bob was misguided, but he obviously meant well.

Also, the picture gave me a momentary flashback.

I don't know why my mind went there....

As for Chris, maybe they can put him with Patty under that 5 - 10 ton doghouse.

TALES FROM THE CRYPT!

Ah hee hee hee! Good evening, kiddies! Your old friend, The Crypt Keeper, here! A ha ha ha! I have a truly gruesome tale! It's about a man who's search for a GHOUL-friend gets out of hand when the security become zombies and it soon becomes the Fashion Square MAUL'D. Ah hee hee hee! Tonight's story is called...

TERROR OF THE TOMGIRL

Two words: viking funeral.

Beat me to it!

Imagine what a grand pyre the hoard would make!

It's sad that the grave looks untended. Do you think that Chris or Barb ever visit? It doesn't cost an arm and a leg to buy a bouquet of flowers from the supermarket either. (Daylillies would be the most appropriate, but of course Chris and Barb can't be bothered to take care of the gardens.)

^ For Barb's burial/funeral, Id have to think it would be inspired by Darth Vader's in Return of the Jedi.

Barb would be laid upon her mound of Barbage, and Chris would light it slowly with a torch, gazing solemnly as the flames carried Barb's body to the afterlife.

I do wonder if the Weens would go to Chris' wake, or if he'd want to be displayed in full Tomgirl gear. Bob never had a wake did he?

But with Chris dead who'll be strong enough to lift it

This is one of the most macabre things ever posted ever. But well, at least now we partially know the answer to the "What will happen when Barb dies?" question.

I'm sure Bob originally planned for a crypt interment, in a casket.

Is it wrong that I read 'crypt internet'?

Yet he failed Chris as much as Barb...
That is debatable. Barb never tried teaching Chris shop techniques or tried to really enforce discipline on Chris. Yes, Bob had his flaws (Greene County conspiracy and all) but he actually tried, Barb didn't.
...and likely was the more culpable parent since he was fairly sane and well-read compared to his wife.
It doesn't matter how good a father Bob was or could of been. Barb's toxic influence would of (and did) undermined any progress Bob made with Chris.

interesting that his parents don't have a spot for chris.....
Not their problem anymore. I'm assuming Chris will end up cremated and dumped in a landfill, as people with no money, no arrangements and no relatives tend to be.

This makes me wonder, if Barb wanted to save money so bad why didn't she just schedule a service (or at least just had him buried) with the VA? It would of been free, and I'm sure Bob was eligible for honors and benefits. And Ruckersville is in the middle of two national cemeteries, one being 30 minutes away.

Also if he was inurned in a national cemetery he'd probably have some flowers in that little vase. :(

Goodbye, Mister C
though I never knew you at all
you had the grace to hold yourself
when trolls and try-hards called

And it seems to me you lived your life
like a Chandler in the wind
never knowing what to cling to
when the hoard caved in

And I would have liked to have trolled you
but I was just a kid
your greenhouse burned down long before
the weening ever did

Yes. I've encountered parents like this, one good person married to someone who never really grew up and doesn't understand appropriate behavior. The bad influence of the bad parent will almost always win, especially if the parents are still together and the bad parent can manipulate and browbeat the good one. Eventually the well meaning parent retreats and just accepts "My kid is hosed."

I tend to think visiting graves is for the living and not for the dead. If Chris or Barb wants to visit his grave, fine. If they prefer to remember him in other ways, I don't see the problem with that.

I know that in my family it's really not done. I mentioned visiting my grandparents' grave once, and everyone remarked how odd that was. But at any family gathering they are talked about a lot with affection and reverence, so it isn't a lack of feeling.
