In my experience white boomers are the ones who are weird about service and this is largely a generational issue.
I honestly wonder how much white (Americans specifically) have the reputations overseas they do entirely because of boomers. Because boomers are the ones that have historically been the ones able to do so both when they were younger and as oldies. While a lot of people in other age ranges don't have the money or choose to spend it differently.

There has been an uptick in people obsessed with travelling but that's been a recent thing in the past few years and a lot of the stereotypes are super old.

I find this kinda interesting but also frustrating lol

I hate to be that guy... but at a certain point is natural selection working on this one? I mean, if you are so fucking stupid as to leave your kid un-attended leading to death TWICE, how smart are your genes really?

I've made a blood oath never to set foot in California. I had a lay-over in Florida once and it got me sick as a dog from the Disney kids, I'm contemplating firing up the blood rituals for that God-foresaken state as well.

Boomers never think that the downsides could happen to them. Traditional women from these countries don’t go for these guys from other countries. These boomers are marrying flip (or thai or whatever) gold diggers.
There are some pretty well known traps when a Westerner marries a "hot" young thing from Indochina. You're not just marrying her, you get the entire extended family too. One Boomer dope I crossed paths with a few years ago ended up buying a small palm oil plantation so he could employ everyone and remain in good standing with the in-laws. The desperate cope on his face as he explained all of this was pretty disturbing. All I could think was, dude you're just a walking dollar sign, hope that pussy was worth it.
So if you go by that standard - you walk into any coin ship today, right now, and they'll sell you pre-1964 US money for probably $47 per dollar. So $3.50 x 47 = $164.50. So in today's federal reserve fun bucks fiat, compared to US currency of the 1950s and 1960s, they were making over $160 an hour.
Oh I certainly think that's another perfectly viable metric to throw at Boomers but it can be a bit complicated for them you know. Sending them to a nice inflation calculator link is easier and even that seems to short circuit their brains. lol

I saw some fairly atrocious tourist behavior across several continents with a lot of it being Brits. But in fairness Americans were heavy hitters too. One of my favorite incidents below. From what I remember in the original coverage the locals on the street outside the bar also helped the band solve the problem.

I have a personal story I've been grappling with, perhaps you can explain it thru boomerism, perhaps something else. I will let you guys be the judge.

So my spouse and I were closing on our new home. It was the final walkthrough, essentially where after a month or so in escrow you check the home to make sure no ones stripped the copper in the month you've been waiting for paperwork to clear. Our relator, a boomer woman, took us through the home. At the time she was the only one with the keys as we did not technically own the home. Everything was great with the house. Then she went into the basement to use the toilet, which I found to be odd because there was a bathroom on the main floor. I immediately clocked that she was taking a shit.

She comes up slyly and let's us know she clogged the toilet. We didn't know what to do. It was an empty home, the owners long gone, and we didn't have the keys so had no way of addressing the "issue." In my opinion, she should have driven up the street to dollar general to buy a plunger then unclog it herself as she was the only one with the keys. Instead, her rank massive shit sat in the toilet for over 24 hours until we could close on the home, and the first thing we had to do in our new dream home was unclog her shit.

Then this bitch has the audacity to add us to her email list, call us personally for a positive google review, and continue to contact us about the home and her services. There was no shame about it at all. I didn't leave a review and blocked her everywhere and have told at least fifty people in the area about what happened.

At first I thought she was mentally ill, or inconsiderate or something. But now I wonder if it is generational. It seems like a boomer thing- to just brazenly shit something up and then abandon it for a young person to deal with.

The comment about minimum wage being only 99 cents pisses me off. What most boomers gloss over is that nearly all of them made way more than minimum wage their entire lives because employers needed to offer serious wages if they wanted any workers at all. And the boomers who technically only made minimum were working jobs that got them tips too.

I had this same argument with a boomer relative years ago. He was bragging about his success despite how he "only" made $3.50 an hour as a construction gopher(go unpack the tools, go carry plywood, go get our lunches, etc.) for his first job out of high school. But when we looked up grocery prices during those years, it turned out that $3.50 was easily enough to buy a weeks worth of groceries. A modern equivalent would probably be $75-$100/hour in most of the country.
Based on the inflation calculator in 1972 when most boomers were hitting the job market 3.50$ would have been equivalent to 30$. 30$ an hour for a cake job would be something most zoomers would hunger games each other over.

My limited experience with realtors is they actually try to maintain good izzat or reputation or whatever, even after the sale is closed. Your story is insane, clogging a customer's toilet and then leaving it to stink up a house for a month, and then assuming it was fine, is next level lunacy.

I had the same conversation with one of mine a few days ago as well. When I showed him how much inflation has screwed the younger generations over, he got really quiet.

Thread Tax: My own boomer mom, and stepdad are currently trying to find a nice retirement neighborhood all the way across the country in Las Vegas. They really think they can afford something like that, and will be able to take care of themselves all alone out there. It's horrifying, and depressing.

I have a personal story I've been grappling with

1) Mortgage people are the absolute worst. If I ever decide to buy my house a condition I will set is that if the closing date moves they will owe me escrow payment back with interest and the deal is off. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I've also had them try and start insurance contracts without the consent of the insureds!!! None is scummy than a mortgage loan officer, period. I'd trust a Pajeet over any of them. They are also 110% retarded and can't read. Its insane.

2) You should leave a NEGATIVE google review. Negative reviews actually make a massive impact on the SEO, so you should really do that. Day 1 of sales training is to always ask for the 5-star review and never just a review....

3) She could be on opiods and clogged the bitch with a baseball. A lot of those old heads on drugs that make your crap stupid hard.

4) Realtors are essentially the scum of the earth in my opinion, the only worse are the mortgage loan officers (I refuse to sell those products, and being a realtor sucks because your hours are garbage). They basically scrape commission for nothing in my opinion. There really isn't any value to be had there, as the house is the house is the house. Back in the day before zillow they had some valuie as they had access to listings, now they are a worthless vestige.

4.5) A lot of these realtors are literal pyramid schemes. In the insurance game you sometimes go to their shit to try and get referals and I went to one and it was like an interest meeting to recruit new realtors... the mother fucker literally said, "Now, we have enough layers so that we aren't considered a pyramid scheme by law"... let that sink in. Keller Williams, for those wondering.

5) Realtors are so used to walking around "owning the place" that it really doesn't phase them at all. They don't give a shit. As long as the sale clears, the sale clears.

6) Boomer has already made the sale, no matter what happens she has already closed you down, so fuck you basically. She is going to pocket the check no matter how shitty she makes your toilet. Unlike the services and contracts I've sold in the past, you can't just "switch houses" or "switch realtors", so you are basically stuck with what you got.

I WOULD NEVER USE A REALTOR WHILE BUYING A HOUSE, AND I WILL ALWAYS TREAT THE OPPOSING REALTOR LIKE A PIECE OF SHIT. Its a business deal, and your job is to jew down the other side. You DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE A REALTOR TO BUY A HOUSE.
My limited experience with realtors is they actually try to maintain good izzat or reputation or whatever
Typically yes. Boomers tend to trade houses a lot, so they want to capture your biz on both ends next time around. They also want to get your friends to buy through them. Its pretty insane she would do that in public, but, on the other hand, who gives a shit... She's old, she's already made her bag and she's closed down the sale. One fuck up isn't going to hurt her at all.

Boomers settled for less.

Facebook market boomers are the worst. I was going to buy a new. Walk behind mower. Because I do landscaping and construction all that jazz. And this guy had one. It had a lot of hours on it, 2400. And he warded $2500. Keep in mind brand new, these things are 3000. I'm sorry if you have 2500 hours on something, it is depreciated immensely. Same thing with any form of used equipment. These boomers are like, yeah, it's about 20 grand. It's like, no, it's not. If something has 5000 hours on it, it is lost 70% of its value.
We're looking to buy a mini X in the Sky had a decent size one. He wanted $28,000 for something that has. 7000 hours on it. I told him I would give him 8. I got really pissed off about this. Like, I'm sorry, but. Used equipment does not hold its value like these boomers think it does. Also, they never take care of it and I always have to sit there and redo the seats and all the fucking hydraulic hoses.

I don't get boomers bringing up certain things like what tech they had as if it's simpler versions of what we have today rather than just what technology was available at the time.

Also, a lot of that technology like TVs weren't all that common and only people doing well had them. It wasn't until they had been around long enough for a reliable used market to show up did stuff like that start trickling down to the lower middle class and poors.

Similarly they also don't seem to realize that a lot of stuff is quite cheap or handed down these days or has multiple functions. People use their phones for almost everything these days if they're a kid and either still live at home and use the family TV or have one given to them when they move out. I know that my parents have tried multiple times to pawn off TVs on me but I really just don't have any use for one.

Boomers settled for less.
"They bought small 2 or 3 BR starter homes with one bathroom, and parked their car on the street. And that one car didn't have all the bells and whistles like today's cars."

First off niggers, please show us where all these new build small starter homes are today that young people are supposedly passing over for $500,000 McMansions. As for cars it wasn't uncommon for young couples to have two cars because they were that cheap. I know because I saw it.

More inflation calculator fun.

Holy shit yes, exactly. What boomers call "good service" is genuinely a negative to me. I am here at your restaurant to eat and hang out with friends/family. I do not need you to come by every two minutes to interrupt us about whether or not the food is okay. Just fuck off and leave us alone. If there's a problem I'll get up and find a staff member.

I would like to point out that this is a bit of an American boomer problem. I've noticed from my Dad and my friends' whose parents are in the boomer age range, but whom are from poor European or Asian countries are NOT typically like this. For example, my dad is proud that his car's tail pipe doesn't have any crud in it because he changes his oil time. Likewise, every year my Romanian friend's dad would pressure wash his siding (or make us kids do it).

If you lived in rich Western country after wwII daddy did everything for you and your teacher, influenced by strange religion (Marcuse, Adorno, etc.), told you that all you had to do was be who you wanted to be and that you expressing yourself was the highest good... be a good goy cattle! We ain't got time for consumerism in poor european country or poor Asian country... they had to actually re-build their worlds.

This holds true for their houses they're trying to sell for $600,000 (or whatever the local market's equivalent is). Anytime I go onto Zillow, just to see if I ever still have a chance (I don't), and there is zero fucking work put into these homes. Everything is outdated, or just not taken care of. So every home you buy is going to be at least another $50,000 of work to get the place up to date.

I referenced this book before, but people were talking about how the easy life were destroying the minds of people back in the 1960s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Feminine_Mystique

Essentially the argument of this book (which is sort of a first in its class of books) is that the easy-life inventions of the post-WWII era basically eliminated the domestic roll of women. The result is a class of "kept women" that are anxious all the fucking time because they have nothing to do. PEOPLE FORGET BOOMER WOMEN IN PARTICULAR WERE ADDICTED TO ANXIETY MEDS BEFORE IT WAS COOL. People were seeing the ill-effets of the easy life well before the boomers were full grown. We can cross apply a lot of the correct things that early feminists were critiquing to men as well, its just really readily apparent when looking at the house-wife cargo cult of the 50s-60s that this easy living lifestyle does not produce good results.

Granted, I think a lot of the unhappiness of women in the easy life roll can be boiled down to, "I'm not self-motivated, and I'm retarded". And I think blaming the easy life for your easy life problems is also retarded. Point stands that boomers had it fucking easy, the bastards.
