At least the fine china can be used and has a practical purpose- I am fond of the green "depression glass" or "carnival glass" sets myself mostly because of silent-gen relatives who had it around and used it when we visited. But that stuff was mass-produced and I am under no illusion as to its value.
The dumb stuff like figurines or boats are frequently worthless or more trouble than they are worth. I have a soft spot for the classic cars, but they are often overpriced, even "restored" ones need constant maintenance due to age, and aren't really daily-drivable for many reasons. So its only worth it if you want that particular type of car and have the time/space/money to keep a "spare" car.
My pet peeve about Boomer-owned classic cars in particular, is I have personally witnessed numerous instances of boomers letting vehicles (often several) rot in their driveways/yards rather than sell them. So otherwise decent classic cars turn to a pile of rust with interiors turned to mold, and then the boomer dies and the car is sent to scrap anyway. All because the boomer was a car hoarder who didn't bother to care for them, and/or was asking a ridiculous price to sell them.
