My only contact with boomers is in second-hand record shops and, holy shit, they are the most greedy, money-grubbing price-gouging fuckers on God's green earth. Boomer shopkeeps will price up a fucking Beatles record at 100 bucks because the sleeve is intact, like, motherfucker this record is probably more abundant than literally any other LP in existence and you're pricing it up like it's some highly sought-after rarity? Fuck off, cunt. They get their prices by looking up the record on Discogs (which has hugely inflated prices due to Discogs taking a cut, and shipping fees) and they'll take a price on the higher end of average and just use that. The only people who pay these fucked up prices are other boomers who have too much disposable wealth and nothing to spend it on, and zoomers who have no fucking clue what anything is worth.
The worst example I have seen is a boomer record shop in Melbourne (trying not to PL but it's Greville St records in Prahran, fuck that place) selling the sleeve of Trout Mask Replica for $300, with no fucking record in it! Not signed or anything.
Boomers don't negotiate prices either and they're usually playing the most fuck-ass music in existence like Eric Clapton Unplugged or some shit. Bear in mind they get most of their stock cheap as chips in massive job lots from estate sales and the like. People go in with crates full of records and they look for ten seconds and say, "I'll give you 20 bucks for the lot" - then price each individual record at 20 bucks minimum. Fucking boomers have ruined record collecting.
