Winter ended at Beltane, May 1 or thereabouts, when the ewes were lambing and everything was fertile again. Samhain, around November 1, was another bonfire festival and the beginning of the dark half of the year, as they counted things. The harvest was now complete; farming wouldn't happen again until things warmed up in May (it's still rather chilly in the British Isles at the actual spring equinox); and depending on what place and era you're talking about, in their belief, a different set of Gods or other supernatural beings ruled for half the year. It may seem silly to us now, but @Bones is totally right about how the ancient Celts viewed Samhain.

(NOTE: This is not the same as declaring the suspect innocent, just that the police haven't found enough evidence to go to court and try for a guilty verdict. If more evidence is implicating the same person in the crime they can be arrested again and the process for the prosecutor begins again.) If the prosecutor deems there is enough evidence to warrant the arrest, then a formal charge is issued. After that there is a preliminary hearing where the prosecutor must present all of the evidence to a judge who will then decide if there is enough proof that the suspect might be found guilty. Sounds to me like GOD sends Christ to Earth (the Second Coming) to wreak a whole lotta bloodshed, after which we are supposed to have peace for 1000 years while Christ and the Saints rule over us. (Rev. 20:4-6) So if you are in fact the Second Coming of Christ as you claim to be, this leaves us with the following questions:
1. How many did you kill as GOD commanded you to do?
2. Why aren't you ruling the world?
3. Why aren't the Saints at your side?
4. Where's our Peace?
