Yes. The resolution declaring Independence was passed by Congress on 7/2. John Adams said, "Americans for perpetuity will celebrate July 2nd with fireworks, parades, concerts, and picnics" (paraphrased). Samuel Adams was a Freemason, but John Adams was not. He and Thomas Jefferson didn't know that Benjamin Franklin (Grand Master of PA), George Washington (GMM of VA), and President of Congress John Hancock (GMM of MA) were planning to align GOD=7_4, 7/4=July 4th. This historic day was not only the signing of the Declaration, it was the day when the Committee for the Design of the Great Seal of the United States was formed that also included Ben Franklin.
In a very calculated move, on 7/4/1776, only one representative of the Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence: John(4,47) Hancock(7,40). He was the only one of the eventual 56 signors with 7 letters in his last name and 4 in his first name. To make the document legal, his signature and to be witnessed. Secretary of Congress Charles Thomson(74=T20+H8+O+M13+S19+O+N14) attested it. So Step 1 & Step 2 of Simple(6,74) English(7,74) Gematria(8,74) were used to encode the Declaration.
It actually took a few months for all 56 signors to attach their signatures.
