Careercow Brandon "Bam" Margera - From Jackass to Lolcow

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Am I the only one who only remember Bam as the asshole kid who was violent towards the other jackass guys every time he was on camera? Maybe his soap operas changed how people saw him but I only remember him punching and kicking people.

If Knoxville still has any balls left he will end Jackass 4 standing on camera, dressed in his best shirt and tie. Unroll his notes, clear his throat and say "This will be the most dangerous stunt I have ever performed. I risk my life, my career and everything I own. Here goes... Women are not funny." Bow and walk off stage. If modern MTV are involved Bam won't be the only train wreck coming out this year.

Bam going more crazy on Instagram.

Bam always seemed like a douche to me. I remember even back when I was a kid watching Jackass I thought that. I dunno, just something about him always made me think he was probably a dick in real life. I actually hadn’t seen the videos until just now, and I expected to laugh at him. He just made me sad, though. He was a big part of my childhood in spite of me thinking that about him, and seeing him like this is rough. I mean it’s not like he was a paragon of dignity before, but that was different. If he keeps down this path I anticipate that he’ll be dead inside of three months.

As someone who used to find Bam cute and have a crush of sorts in the early 00s and eat VLB/Jackass up like chocolate candies, this is kinda painful to see. :(

Bam has seemingly everything you could want; a family, a son, enough economic clout... and yet he seems so miserable and juvenile to a demented fault. It's like he'd rather still be cruising nighttime LA with Ville Valo or getting hit in the balls in 2002 than enjoy what he has right now.
I guess you actually can't have everything you want even you seemingly do.

He was one of the cute ones. I admit I did think he was attractive (along with Johnny) but it's too bad he ruined his looks with alcohol and those fucking ugly tattoos he has all over himself.

If it were any other cast member they wouldn't be bitching about this as much as Bam is. It's pretty pathetic to see a 41 year old who's never emotionally matured past 16.
It's easy to have empathy for Bam here. The guy's only claim to fame is Jackass, for years he's wanted to do more and probably thought he could use it as his excuse to rehab. All his childhood friends reunite, they're getting paid millions and he's left out in the cold with his druggy mates. The guy's an utter fuck up and is getting what he deserves, don't get me wrong on that front. It is a betrayal and it's going to hurt like a bitch even if he deserves it. It maybe the thing which drives him to an overdose with how he'll respond to the movie coming out.

There was also that time where he claimed to have a sex tape of him and Greg 'Opie' Hughes wife Lindsey. Opie was massively butt hurt and Bam was a smug douche himself about it.
It wasn't actually Bam who claimed there was a sex tape, it was an ex-producer on The Opie and Anthony Show called Ben Sparks who started the rumor after being fired.
Ben took it to The New York Post's Chaunce Hayden (O&A had feuded with him in the past over some shit to do with Stern) who then published it as well as claimed to have seen the tape.
Ben would go on to continuously stalk and harass Opie until having a restraining order filed against him, this concerted effort and stories of crazy drug binges would lead to O&A fans labeling Ben as a 'good egg'.

Bam never claimed there was a sex tape and even called into the show to deny its existence as well as denied ever meeting Opie's wife:
(if the timestamp does not work, skip to 1:27:48 )

The New York Post then had to issue a retraction after being threatened with a lawsuit and Hayden admitted that he had never seen the tape. There's a brief TheSmokingGun article about it that sums up the situation:

All of this reminds me about how Bam's career was so insanely high that at one point MTV wanted Missy Margera to fake a pregnancy for a storyline for Bam's Unholy Union season 2. I truly think Bam was the biggest breakout star from Jackass but his star burned so ridiculously fast.

Am I the only one who only remember Bam as the asshole kid who was violent towards the other jackass guys every time he was on camera? Maybe his soap operas changed how people saw him but I only remember him punching and kicking people.
Agreed. Bam always seemed like an asshole to me, and some of his pranks seemed downright evil (the random king hitting prank from one of the Jackass movies pops into my head, where he would come up from behind, toss a glass of water into someone's head then just king them from behind). Then he was one of the biggest bitches during actual pranks too, when it came time for his own comeuppance (getting dropped into the pit of snakes) you could tell he spent the rest of the day bitching about them doing that to him. Anything with his parents I found ridiculously cringe and skipped through every single time I watched the movies. I never saw the appeal in Bam.

Bam was the biggest breakout star from Jackass
That's Knoxville and it's not even close. While Bam was making reality TV which never went international Knoxville did. He was a B tier Hollywood guy and managed to be a draw towards movies to see what dumb stuff he would do in them.

Thanks for clarifying that!

Couldn’t agree more. Right from day one I knew the guy was a fucking loser. It seems time has proven me right.

No matter how much of a dickbag Bam came off as on camera (and possibly was off camera), at the end of the day lots of people did grow up watching his antics and hate seeing how far he's fallen. Even if he did cross a line somewhere, he'd always get his comeuppance in some form or another (the snake pit being the most notable example). As I said before, he was essentially "the kid" of the group, and a huge part of why he became a breakout star was because the target demo for Jackass and its offshoots (teenage boys and young men in their twenties) identified with him more than with many of the other cast members.

Addiction and mental illness aren't things I'd wish on anyone no matter how much I dislike them. That said, as many others in this thread have echoed, the onus is ultimately on Bam to make sure he gets—and accepts—the help he needs.

Thank you Mods for moving the thread from the Prospering Grounds. ❤️✡️

Back to business. I noticed Bam had a Burzum shirt on in his meltdown. Now he's leaving some cryptic comments. Can we hope to see some naming of the Jew and Church Burnings?

Beyond that more dunnposting.

Don't do drugs and alcohol, kids.

He'd make a great advertisement tbh. Hell, I've seen ex-druggies that came out better looking than how he looks now. I wonder how many of those hideous tattoos were done to him during a drug or alcohol binge.

Hell no. I have a friend who always disliked him, even in his heyday when he was on Jackass and Viva La Bam. So you're not alone there. The embarrassing thing about him is that personality he had only looks good in your young years, but if you're in your 40s and still act like that, it's pathetic.
