Out of respect for Bam’s privacy this will be all I’ll share about him during our time in rehab.

Bam would frequently abuse our lodge computer (he was housed in a smaller lodge) and would frequently ask people to help him send emails, buy things on Amazon, download music and more. He frequently left his email logged into the lodge computer as well.

Knowing that he struggles with using a computer like this really makes me feel for him

Being a repressed homo is checkbox on the troon out reasons list for a lot of them. The rest go prison gay once they figure out nobody wants to fuck them. He ticks off a lot of boxes on that list like addict, attention whore, grifter, having a family he wishes to abandon, etc. Trooning out is unironically the best career move he could probably make at this point and I'm kinda surprised he hasn't. Living sober doesn't count because I don't think there is a chance he could ever stay sober. Going tranny would allow him to reinvent himself into a new kind of trainwreck. I think he's burned bridges so badly that he'd never become famous as a troon, but I think he could gain some sort of sympathetic following.

Well, anyone who has worked as a case manager, a social worker, or a position in group settings like this likely has similar stories. I do too. I think (and I could be totally wrong) that it has everything to do with frequent states of drunkenness/drugs/combining drugs/alcohol/OTC meds for months to years on end. It literally fries your brain and your eyesight. People in Bam's situation often have violent emotional/angry outbursts. Probably because he's been drinking and/or combining drugs and OTC medication. ANY question, no matter how minor or inconsequential, and ANY small task is overloading the synapses of the brain. Not even sure how it's possible to straighten that out--or if you even wanted to bother anyway.

Bam grew up in a time where computers were still the realm of nerds. The teens and early twenty-somethings learned from their friends about Napster and that's what they used the increasing number of home PCs for. I had a black friend who was smart as hell and both his parents were doctors or something, but he made ridiculous money off burned CDs in the shitty side of town. No worries about getting ripped off because legit OGs wanted the latest DMX and woe be the little nigga who jeopardized their connect. He'd be selling dozens of new release albums for $5 a pop or 3 for $10, dozens of orders a week depending on what was dropping.

Bam was already well on his way crazy party celebrity burnout by the time PCs became popular. It's not like he learned how to use one for high school, college, or work. He had staff to do all the social media, accounting, taxes, whatever by the time he made it big. April and Phil would have done all that computer stuff before him. Bam wasn't editing CKY himself. He was on the tail end of those not raised by social media and he just never really had to learn how to use a computer. To busy being drunk or high to bother. It wouldn't surprise me if he's straight boomer when it comes to tech. It's also reddit.

Bam was definitely the owner of the original editing battlestation, he’s been photographed there a few times but it doesn’t mean he edited everything himself.

Even if he did, the technology moved so fast between the late nineties and today that he was too busy getting paid to be a drunk addict while at least five technological generations came and went. During jackass he wasn’t in charge of making edits and during his own his own show he has people who handle that and he probably didn’t even have the final say in editing. His own style is very different than MTV.
