Eh, at least CoC is rather inventive in how crazy you can make your character become. Rev60 is just ugly, and only provides fetish fuel for a single, ghoulish tranny.

Why is this a surprise to you? You've seen the Rev60 gameplay right? Brianna doesn't shit about making a narrative work. Characterisation is a handful of shorthand traits that get applied at the start and do not change. Everyone is designated a role from the beginning and cannot move away from that. Holiday is the heroine no matter what she does.
She's probably just angry that Hermione doesn't fuck up everyone with her magic, make a snarky quip and then bitch at all the other heroes for being useless. That's how Brianna would have written it, which is obviously the correct way.

No no, I totally get that and it's not a surprise at all. It's just so satisfying seeing Brianna "I was a real Journalist" Wu scrambling to make sense of a fiction story that involves actual wizards that go to school in a castle somewhere up in Scotland and failing completely while grafting some weird janky social justice influence to the narrative.
It's not the most complex story that has ever been told and still Wu doesn't get it.

It's also a story that's been told many times before, at least structurally. Harry Potter follows the structure of the "Hero's Journey" closely. And there's nothing wrong with that because it works, just like it's worked for so many other storytellers throughout human history.
Then again, I don't expect Wu to know anything about narrative philosophy or who Joseph Campbell is. If she did, maybe her writing wouldn't be so atrocious.

Actually, that kind of design isn't unusual for modern armor, but not because boobplate. It's designed that way to be better able to dissipate the kinetic energy of a projectile. Curved and angled surfaces resist impacts better than flat ones. So I'll actually give Wu that one.
The fact that Valentina's chest is showing massive cleave 24/7 though, completely undercuts any argument Wu makes, as does Minuete's miniskirt.
