Revolution 60 becoming one of those games - the so-bad-it's lovable variety - would cause her to literally descend into a realm that to her would seem an endless nightmare: a realm where people make terrible jokes about her work all the time for absolutely justified reasons and no amount of spin can save her dignity. Revolution 60 delivers on being entertainingly bad, especially if you go through it drunk and with friends present for your playthrough. It deserves its spot as gaming's Manos: The Hands of Fate. It shares a lot with Manos, really.

I'm hoping Rev60 ends up on Retsupurae, or a similar youtube channel. It would be pretty damning for Wu if popular youtubers who have no affiliation whatsoever with gamergate or anti-sjw stuff ended up making videos mocking her game. I would also enjoy the backlash if she tried to bully said youtubers into taking down their videos.

You now see what I was getting at, good Baron. :jaceknife:

Unfortunately, I think that's reason Brianna will take a shiiitload of time to release her game, just because she knows people will tear her a new one and she can't smear them with ''REEEEEEEEEEEEEE GAMERGATE''

But boy, am I looking forward to that day.

Oh yeah, she's totally still butthurt.

John's entire narcissistic world view is fucking crumbling. Glorious!
"It mystifies me why Asian men are never the love interest in media"

Yup, John's pride has been totally destroyed. He's now resorting to emasculating Frank again.
So yeah, we have it that she threw someone else's iPad at a male staffer because of a spilled drink.
What a fucking asshole.
She wants to be taken seriously, not seen as the new Tommy Wiseau, Neil Breen, or James Nguyen. Everywhere she goes, she brandishes her GODZILLA OF FEMINISM moniker, constantly pulls her professional victim schtick, and invariably goes out of her way to make herself look DEAD COLD SERIOUS at all times. You all have seen by now, that, if nothing else, Wu is utterly fucking humorless about her public persona.
To be honest, I see John as trying to come off as the cynical, smart, sarcastic, nerdy quirky gamer gurrl techie developer who will kick any male's ass in a vidya game because she's a kool gam3r.

Basically, he's trying to be every female love-interest protagonist from every 90s action film. You know the ones. The ones who think all men are idiots, is the brains of any mostly-male team, the ones every man in the movie wants to fuck, and are all GURL-POWERRR every scene they're in.

Oh, I agree. That's what Wu is trying to come off as. But there is a vast gulf between what Wu IS and what Wu would like to be. Else there'd be no thread.

no amount of spin can save her dignity.

There is one way. Pity it's absolutely beyond her. I mentioned it upthread when talking about Tommy Wiseau. The key for riding the wave of "so bad it's good" depends on the ability of a person to fucking roll with it. After a brief butthurt period, Wiseau embraced his modest success. Mathew Karedas (guy in the ridiculous wig in 'Samurai Cop') is in Samurai Cop 2 over twenty years later. And nobody does a better 'bad William Shatner' impression than Will Shatner.

The ability to admit that you sometimes make garbage, or at least mutter something about, "I'm glad I could bring some joy to people, one way or another," is so incomprehensible to Wu it may as well be random accordion noises. Since Wu demands to be taken seriously, she will receive neither professional accolades nor affectionate indulgence.

Yeah, she's aware she just revealed to everyone what server she's on. If you're worried about harassment you don't do this shit.

Hell, she seems to be counting on it.

It's a shame Wu either hides out in a crowd of white knights or in games with stiff griefing penalties. Watching his ass be ground into online dust would be hilarious for the salt.

On the other hand, watching this smug ass blow tons of money on fake gamer cred and essentially boast of it is pretty damn funny in and of itself.

Wu appears to want nothing as much as she wants to be considered an expert. This is where Revolution 60 has become her albatross. The game is demonstrably substandard, and she has neither the skills or resources to fix it. If it ever is released, it will be a testament to her ineptitude. This is why she avoids mentioning it at all, until she is forced to. I believe that nothing would make her happier at this point than people forgetting about it so she could quietly let it fade from memory until she could do a quiet release that no one would notice, just so she could say it was done.

A major problem she runs into is the fact that she seems to feel the need to be an expert at everything she does, and often talks herself into a hole since she thinks that throwing a few buzzwords around will convince people that she knows what she's talking about. She also immediately takes a very superior (and condescending) tone in her twitter interactions, trying to intimidate people into agreeing with her stances or changing their own to match hers. When called out on her bullshit, she quickly retreats screaming "mansplaining", "misogyny", or "transphobia"

Honestly, the best thing that can happen (from our standpoint) is if Wu is forced to continue addressing the trainwreck that is Revolution 60. Eventually she'll either have to release a game that is bad at best or find some reason for never releasing it. Either way, it will wreck what credibility she has as a game developer, and that's what her whole "woman in tech" persona is built on. Her flailing to be perceived as relevant will only increase, spreading the milk far and wide.

You are right on the money. It's interesting how Wu's patterns of behavior have given us quite the accurate portrayal of her psyche.

Tell me about your mother, Mr. Flynt.

Everything keeps coming back to Sailor Moon. For a show that didn't even come to the US until after John Flynt graduated high school, it sure had a lasting impact on him.

Googling Lilith Nine brings up a page on Lodestone, which I think is the official character database.

The lodestone is the official database, yeah, but you've got the wrong character. That login screen Wu posted most recently showed her server: Gilgamesh.

THIS is Wu's character: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/5677862/

Yep, we went through this a pile of pages back, and showed that Wu has basically paid for a huge amount of subscription outright (getting her subscription-based reward mounts etc) and also just plain bought cash shop stuff and/or bought Gil(ingame currency) given certain inconsistencies.
