Well, this whole thing reeks of being a marketing ploy to sell headsets. However, I think more drama related to this will surface soon, so it deserves a thread. It's causing quite a splash on /v/.

The Bully Hunters claim to be a group of women fighting against gaming bullies by joining games and bullying them back. However, it looks like they fake most of their matches.

Oh this has actually all been played out:

  • Their stated were obviously hilariously inflated, extrapolated from a survey in which 85 participants of women owning a console felt unwelcome and somehow extrapolated it to 21 million
  • Their main female spokesperson was found to be calling people faggots on a live stream.
  • It was revealed that it was a blatant marketing attempt for headsets
  • Steel series already deleted videos and tweet
  • Hired a 'clinical game counselor' who is a male feminist and thinks that all men view women as sex objects. He has mostly worked with people with diabetes
  • Linked to the Twitter of a male rape victim unrelated to gaming
  • Steel series getting blown out and anyone defending them losing followers and getting called shills
  • Had the entire stream of gameplay they used nearly instantly debunked.

Basically it was a cringe star that collapsed into a beautiful black hole of failure. The most amazing thing is that all this took like 2 or 3 hours to tear apart. Which is probably the amount of time they thought about this.
