Eh, I've been slowly weaning myself off of fast food and leaning more towards cafe-type stuff (i.e. Panera Bread) if I'm out running errands and I have a few bucks to spare on a flatbread.

But given the choice between BK and McDonalds, I'll go with BK every time. Mostly because their chicken nuggets don't taste like heat lamp-cooked rubber.

Never really had much of an issue with service, apart from this one place at Swansea that I swear makes a game out of getting my order wrong - srsly, mishearing "Toffee Crisp" as "Tendercrisp"? But yeah, it's not as good as McDonalds.

Apparently they are implementing Auntie Anne's pretzel buns.

Please please PLEASE, Burger King, don't shit the bed on this one. Granted it'll be overpriced for some but it's a concept worth spending an extra buck on I'll give them credit for that.

I am shocked to hear this, I know they now have relaxed the rules but AA's is famous for being Drill Sarge tough (but in a fair way) on QC. It's a major part of why it's a successful company.

The King quality control isn't it's strong point and to get a name like AA to sign up there must have been some interesting talks. I could see a pretzel bun and it wouldn't hurt to mix up the menu but to get AA on board is quite a feat.

there is a King™ right off of my campus and I used to eat there regularly for breakfast (their french toast sticks aren't that bad)

one day I received a Sprite that tasted like burnt grease and needless to say I will not be returning to that Burger King

Burger king really does uniformly suck. They do mass mailings of little coupon pages though so that keeps people coming in.

Unfortunately the only place on my way to work is The King so I end up having it once a week when I forget my lunch :sighduck:

Chances are the machine you got it from had died shortly thereafter or had cheap electronics that get too hot for their rudimentary function. There's also sugar based scum that can build up. Fun.

Recently during a severe thunderstorm, some friends of mine took shelter inside of a Burger King for a few hours, and they were okay with letting them wait it out. After a while they even offered them food, and I'm not just plain junior cheeseburgers or anything, I'm talking about full on whoppers with fries and a drink. Sounds mighty kind of them, I ought to ask them which one they were at sometime.

In my own personal experience, I'm pretty indifferent to them. I went there a good bit after they brought the chicken fries back since I prefer Wendys burgers, but I've burned out on them really hard after trying their Cheetos chicken fries. Love their onion rings and the sauce they come with, at least.

FUCKING 1.49 FOR 10 CHICKEN NUGGETS. I can't hate them, that's god damned amazing.

Just to be clear: I understand quality gaps happen in between locations... But most of the BK's here in Texas just flat out suck ass.

Bumping because my sister and I recently tried the Flaming Hot Mac n' Cheetos. Surprisingly, the Flaming Hot flavor doesn't really work with fried mac n' cheese. Would not recommend unless drunk and/or really hungry.

I'm going to settle with some :powerlevel: gold here just to make a (pointless) point.

Sonic, you know that cheesy ass drive-thru where nobody who works there sticks to the theme? At least their shitty aspects I can tolerate, it'll at least have a peaceful hill to die on. Burger King on the other hand? Well...

This is the only kind of person who enjoys Burger King anymore. What was BK before it deserved a thread?

Not much.

Everyone expects a chain restaurant to suck ass when you try and spend as little as possible for anything. The people who work at these places often encounter the shittiest lazy assholes who never appreciate any level of quality that CAN come from a cheap order. The difference between BK and McDonald's is at least McDonald's can hide their employee's misery with effective advertisement. There are examples of low budget or even royalty-free acting in commercials, that are okay, it's just that most companies in general suck at making cheaper advertisements that aren't cringe-worthy. The 1970's had a better taste in advertising quickly made slop.

Example of how terrible Burger King is compared to the rest:

But what about the food? Who watches these commercials anyways, when we can bitch about the food instead?

  • 9/10 times Burger King overdresses with Mustard and Ketchup
  • 9/10 times Burger King's soda tastes flatter or stranger than the rest
    • Brown soda tastes all the same from their fountain
  • Service has always been middling to awful according to online reviews
    • The people who work there in my experience barely make eye contact
  • Dollar menu is pointless when you can make a bigger sandwich for less (nothing) at home
    • Everyone else's dollar menu is actually better in both quality and consistency
  • Pickles taste of nothing
    • Tomato's only add moisture to the dry ass patty
  • Special menu items are lazier than Taco Bell's
    • Putting fries on a burger and charging extra when any functionally qualified individual can do it themselves, no really it's five fucking fries if you ask them to do it

Also, to go back to the subject of marketing, who the hell thought this was a clever jab at Ronald McDonald statues? Who thought this was remotely pleasant to look at if you couldn't skip commercials or change the channel right away?

I don't really read much into Burger King except for the fact they are the only chain barely in the top ten who get everything wrong compared to Sonic Drive-Thru. They get EVERYTHING wrong but still break the bank.

Up here in NY, it's one of your better options.

I think it's because we don't have mustard by default on our burgs like you fucking sociopaths do in other states, so they never overapply it.

Don't get me wrong, it still doesn't breach the top five up here, but it's far from the worst.

Yeah I got a bit harsh here, and often BK has one or two good stand out items during the year.

I just got the really bad ones in my neck of the woods. Almost all of them are either short staffed or the ones that work there just drift into space.

There's one fast food place like that in every region.

I love getting BK coupons in my area and bringing them in for a $5 whopper or chicken sandwich meal or $3 chicken fries with fries.

Also the BK in my area is actually pretty good and well run. The McDonalds on the other hand is a shitshow, they are extremely fucking slow and cars just line up, sometimes into the street. Go into BK and you'll get your food instantly.

Oh and you can't hate $1.49 nuggets
