If there’s one thing I can take away from this, it’s that if one is to have a good life, it is absolutely vital to have SOMETHING, ANYTHING, that keeps you from posting everything you do onto the Internet. Be it a job, a relationship with someone you have to see in your real life to keep it somewhat alive, or a hobby that makes it impossible to post on social media, I don’t know, but you need it. Badly. Or you become like this Blue.

I also find it amazing that the “grab a plate” and taking a dump aspect seems to play an only a supporting part in the this trash fire that just goes beyond….that.

Seriously, at what point do you make something or write something or do something before you go “maybe I should keep this to myself” or go “I should find a way to contain how far this spreads”?

Finally, I just feel for the dad. It has to hurt knowing that a parent/child bond has to be permanently destroyed. That or I’m too soft for this website considering I think about something like that in a way that some users will get on me for power leveling or something.

I jumped off the BlueFolf train after ValidLs got banned months back. Kind of sad to see how hard his descent into lunacy was. But on the other hand, he's a pedophile.
Here's your real-world example of what happens when you hang around bad people for too long. Maybe it would have happened with Caden anyways with how much of an attention whore he already was.

I feel sort of bad for the family but then again...these parents had a beautiful home four bedrooms more than necessary, good money, he had good educational prospects...like all of this obviously seems to stem from the fact they're yet another example of parents just letting their kids do whatever online and who let the schools do whatever and they give no real input into their own child's life besides money and a place to sleep. (Screaming at the fact the school had esports, no, sorry son...no way in hell...) Like how in the holy fuck do you not notice your child, who fucking lives with you slipping down into this bullshit? And he's the only little fucker you have to keep an eye on? Why are you like "huh that's nasty" and then do nothing about it in your own home beyond letting your disgust be known?

If that was my child I'd replace their phone with a dumb one, turn off the internet, and confiscate the electronics. LMAO they're the ones who paid for it all. Do some parenting and have him actually work if he wants something back. Everyone always feels so bad for the family in these situations but honestly they facilitate the breeding grounds for this shit a lot of the time, they watch the train wreck happening in their own home, and they act as if they have no control. For fuck's sake take your child fishing, go camping, have him hold a flashlight while you poke around under the hood of a car...people these fucking days. MATI but he was signing up for fetish sites at 13??? I don't care how nice your home is that's not a functional home life, clearly.

Doubly so. Outside of thoroughly beating the nonsense out of the kid the dad did everything right, but at some point no amount of concerted effort will overcome what the dredges of the internet quickly do to young malleable minds. Really unfortunate situation, and goes to show how very tight control is needed over what your kids get up to now because of how easy it is to get caught up in these communities.

I lack the commitment, stomach and sanity to read through everything in the OP (and excuse the pun but I've seen enough shit about Bluefolf already), but I read everything concerning the family because all I wanted to know was: how did they let this freak get this way?

Seriously, both of his parents are shitty parents. I can't even tell which one is worse because they are two opposite sides of bad parenting. The mom is an idiot for giving her son everything he wants all the time without questioning any of it, despite her obvious confusion. Unconditional love isn't defined by throwing yourself at someone's feet and doing everything they say, and on top of that she obviously doesn't respect her husbands opinions or values because she kept sneaking around him and affirming her son's blatant descent into madness and swept everything under the rug. I doubt Christine ever had a real conversation with Caden and told him he was wrong about anything.
The father doesn't deserve any more sympathy than the mother either, maybe less. He neglected his son so much by letting him loose on the Internet to get involved with deranged communities. Andrew could have pulled him out of this if he gave enough of a shit by cutting off Internet access or taking his phone away while he was still a young teenager, but he waited until two months after the 18th birthday to do so. Way too late for that, Andrew. And is he oblivious to the mom supporting his son in all this? Or is he abusing her or something? The archived twitter thread shows Caden texting his aunt and her first question is if the mom is ok but that could all be made up or lied about though. Still, something's off there.
When I hear that video where Caden is arguing with him about being financially cut off, Andrew's tone is ANYTHING but 'dad voice'. He stammers and speaks so meekly to his son that he sounds like a manager talking to a problem customer that he's willing to lose but would rather not. No wonder his wife doesn't respect him, it also explains why his son was so comfortable raising his voice (I'm sure the autism doesn't help tbf). This is the type of parental scenario where teenagers and young adults run away to wind up on the street or involved in a gang or pregnant with a convict's baby: fucked up childhood due to fucked up parents who either don't care or are WAY too involved. Caden got both.
I get that you can't always monitor your kids' online activity and they're going to go to weird places if they have an internet connection, but once you catch them getting into trouble it's your job as a parent to actually fucking do something about it and make them learn that what they did is NOT okay. But no, Caden had a mom that not only enabled his sick behavior but INDULGED in it by using a twitter with a furry bio (seriously wtf), and was completely forsaken by his father who just didn't want to deal with him. Both failed miserably, and I'll bet a high sum that something traumatic happened to Caden long before his web activity was documented that was also ignored by them. Good job dipshits, you created a monster.

That being said, being a stupid teenager can be excused (to an extent) because teenagers are dumb and impressionable. But once you become an adult, you can't blame your parents for your fuckups anymore. It's way too late for Caden to claim victim now and even though I only skimmed the OP, I read enough to confirm my belief that some people never should have been born.
