^Doubt Mexico wants them, they'd probably feel insulted by being given Trump's scraps.

Hey, we can give them Portland while we're at it. Phil would feel right at home!

And let's face it, Mexico isn't a diverse country. They need more skinnyfat white people with ugly glasses and terrible hair. They would welcome the cultural enrichment!

Calexit is like constipation. It's an angry, visceral movement from the ass-end of the United States that tries so hard to pass but at the end of the day, you know it won't.

Funny story. I live in western Australia, which actually did technically secede from the rest of Australia in the 1930s. There was a vote and the leave party won, but never bothered to actually leave the rest of Australia.
So now, every once in a while, we threaten to leave and take our mines with us. But then we never do. Because it's stupid and so is California.

Hutt River Province is still one of the funniest things ever.

Especially since it got recognised by the Queen, thus giving 100% more credibility than Calexit.

It was an accident okay we didn't know replying to his letter with "Mr. Emperor" actually counted as a legal recognition of the title we were just trying to be polite.

We should fucking annex Hutt River militarily.

Why #calexit won't work.

You see, the Southeast once tried to exit the United States because of a guy they didn't like winning the election. They felt the system was rigged and they weren't properly represented in the union because nobody in the south voted for the winner. This guy was some asshole named Abrams Lincoln and he had some crazy ideas that the South didn't like, anti-neutralism, bigger government, and something else. So they decided to leave.

It was a little event you might have heard of. It wasn't a big deal, you know, but you might have heard of it, it was called

WORLD WAR I.

Geez, you stupid people gotta learn your history right.

I suppose I should play devil's advocate after doing some reading.

The movement has been around for a while since 2010 and had nothing to do with Trump's victory other than making people latch onto the idea after Election Day. The original issues revolved around paying taxes but barely getting funding themselves.

Secession is still unrealistic though.

Nah, everyone knows the New California Republic sucks.
Plus, we have Legatus Lanius on our side.
You guys are faggots. #Kings4Life

Any state that secedes because a president they didn't like won the election, deserves to be invaded and have their "independent government" destroyed by the federal government.

Regardless of political party, or the person winning the will of the people.

People have the right to rebel against a corrupt government, not one that they FEEL is corrupt, one that actually oppresses it's own citizens.

I already thought we took care of "you can't leave the union just because you are butthurt about a election" over 100 years ago...

I think that states should have the right to secede for any reason, and that secession should be unambiguously constitutional, no matter how bad it may be in my view or anyone else's.

That said, the rest of America would be better off without California anyway, so I would support this no matter what.
