Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Been without internet for a day or two, came to make fun of Tomb Raider being in Call of Duty now.

Shit's officially worse than Fortnite. MWII will definitely be my last call of duty and I feel disgusted I even bought it to play with my friends since they dipped out a month in and my dumbass stuck it out to season 3.

Despite all the bad shit going on in the game, I do genuinely enjoy playing DMZ (except the matches where I get instant stomped by a 6 man while I have a 1-plate), but some of the jank going on lately is really starting to ruin that.
  • The AI is still way too fucking aggressive and aimbot-y
  • It's not uncommon to load in without one of your selected guns. If it's an insured gun, it's going on cooldown and if it's not, that gun is gone forever
  • Sometimes when you progress or complete a mission, all progress is lost after you exfil, so you need to do it again
  • Sometimes, progress towards upgrades just isn't counted. It ruins the mood when I finish a great run to get a bunch of annoying/hard to find shit just to find out none of it counted
  • The smaller maps have way too much fog to stop players from doing long distance snipes. Normally this wouldn't be an issue because it's for balance and that should be good but thermal sights ignore fog, so if you're on a small map and you don't run thermals you're at a disadvantage in any fight over 100m. Just remove the goddamn fog, nobody cares.
If some of the additions for the next season make shit worse, I'm going to just drop the game. Some of the changes seem fine, but then I see they're adding an incredibly tanky cargo truck with an LMG and I can already tell a 6 man is going to drive that thing straight up my ass.

Lord knows what will happen next. I mean shit, Mortal Kombat has been on a license frenzy with other characters such as Robocop, Terminator, Alien, Predator, etc., so it won't take too long to have Lara Croft in Mortal Kombat. It's just gonna be an all out war between big name companies.
 
I imagine MWIII will be more of the same from MWII. I hope they streamline the UI at least.

CoD doesn't even have licenses for real life weapons. Why in Earth would the MIC want to play around with video games? Blame Activision.
 
Season 5 is out.
The good:
  • Some of the DMZ changes include a bunch of QoL stuff like auto-picking up items like bandages when you walk over them
  • Temp-V is removed
  • More DMZ stuff to grind
The bad:
  • It seems they've fucked the party system, as when I'm playing with friends, if the party leader leaves, they no longer drag the whole party
  • Picking up and extracting the new guns in DMZ no longer unlocks them
  • BP price has gone up by 300cp, so poorfags like me that have been using the free cp from past battle passes may not have enough right off the bat, and need to unlock some of the free cp to purchase
  • The free cp on the BP seems to intentionally be really far in, past the weapons which themselves are far in. This paired with the DMZ no longer unlocking guns paints this as Activision forcing players to spend more time grinding for new shit or just buying the 30$ pack with the new gun
  • Bugs introduced in Season 4 were not fixed, killing any hope I had that they would be fixed

Guess they realized BlackCell wasn't reeling in the payers. Also, considering what's going on with Diablo 4, raising the battle pass price isn't a good look.

That reminds me of a bit of extra scum I forgot. When you boot the game for the first time for this season, they show you last seasons BP and your progress on it, giving you a chance to use the last of your BP tokens before you lose it all. You have to confirm that you don't care about the BP to close the menu, but if you 100%'d the BP but didn't buy Blackout, it still fucking tells you you're about to lose unclaimed rewards.

YOU CAN'T TRICK OR GUILT ME INTO BUYING YOUR SHITTY BLACK CELL SHIT. FUCK OFF ACTIVISION.
