Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Well, it's 2025, and you know what that means if you ever played Black Ops 2: Total Westoid Death!
The game took a few liberties, for one the date is wrong, two it wasn't the drone strikes that did LA in but retarded California policies themselves.
Other than that, City of Angeles isn't looking THAT different right now! Maybe if we're lucky, PMCs will free us from the clutches of the glow-in-dark "Black Ops" and White House will catch on fire like in one of the endings, but I doubt it.
Still, that's one more prediction than I would have thought BO2 would make, so you never know...

If we got an earthquake or something like that, we could end up getting Chasm from Ghosts on top of all that:

Still, Aftermath is a good comparison. Granted, I'm hesitant to call Menendez the "good" guy given that his faction is a bunch of anarchists apparently based on Occupy Wall Street, but... given that I heard some people repeatedly try and state Bosworth is supposed to be the in-universe Hillary Clinton...

Got into a conversation about this back on Page 199 on this thread: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/call-of-duty-thread.75187/page-199#post-19139695. Agree or disagree?

The idea of US getting invaded by SA is pretty hilarious, Israel isn't getting nuked(unfortunately) and I doubt we have orbital weapons, so Ghosts reality is out. I think Menendez is a good villain, considering who he is up against I wouldn't call him a "bad guy" but he is definitely not a good guy either. He also doesn't care about his movement, the only thing that drives him is his revenge against Woods and the west. He knows where Frank lives, he could have him killed at any moment, but he wants him to suffer first. This is why he crippled him, so he could do nothing but watch as he destroys everything he ever cared for, just like he killed his sister. That's pretty metal if you ask me, Treyarch isn't capable of writing something like that anymore.

Bosworth is definitely a Hillary stand in, I mean this is the same game that had "USS Barrack Obama" that could potentially be saved by the Chinese soldiers if you killed off the leader of their armed forces and fucked them over politically. I'm sure in 2012, when we got our first Black President, our first female president was just around the corner. Remember, this would have been the 2016 election, the one Hillary was "supposed" to win.

The Season 1 battle pass for Black Ops 6 expires in about 18 days. Even with that knowledge, I cannot bring myself to engage with the game anymore. Of course, I transitioned into MWIII's multiplayer as it's distinct enough to stand out.

All the issues that exist with Black Ops 6 are there in MWIII (skill based matchmaking, weapon imbalance, extravagant cosmetics, cluttered UI, lobby disbanding), so why is MWIII the primary choice?

I'd say variety. Black Ops 6 leans more arcade with smaller maps, to put it lightly. That's fine itself; I like how Call of Duty is able to have two identities. MWIII feels more grounded with its gunplay and locales. They remedied MW2019's camp heavy map design, so you have more engagement options than just patrolling in one area.

Ground War, War Mode and Invasion are the best game modes in MWIII. Large scale engagements in torn down cities that turns into a tug-of-war. Provide sniper support, run and gun, allow suppressive fire, it definitely plays into its grounded combat strengths. It's not Battlefield, mind you, just larger Call of Duty skimirishes that narrow down to its objectives.

To be fair, the Feds are shown to be a fairly incompetent organization who's mostly made progress via Rorke... the one white guy shown in their organization, who was brainwashed into serving them. It can be inferred that he was the mastermind, or at least a key player, with the ODIN attack, and possibly helped with the LOKI plan as well. Also, the U.S. was already pretty weak in-universe; it's implied that the only reason why the Feds made as much progress as they did was because U.S. was hit HARD by the lack of oil and subsequent bombing, the latter happening while the former was still recovering. And let's be realistic; there's probably plenty of retards that would "defect" to the Feds due to a hatred of America, if we're talking about the modern U.S.

The intel you can collect in-game goes a bit further into the backstory and justifying how everything happened, including the creation of the ODIN platform; I think the U.N. had something to do with it, actually.

That's pretty metal if you ask me, Treyarch isn't capable of writing something like that anymore.

They'd make him either a complete strawman or a Trump copy if BO2 was made today.

Remember, this would have been the 2016 election, the one Hillary was "supposed" to win.

Imagine the assassinations our PCs would've partaken in...

Got hit with the SBMM in MW2019 and realized another thing I don't like about it, you never get a sense of how good you are. In WaW, my first COD, I could see I was getting better because I gradually went from consistently being last place every map to consistently being 1st or second. At this point, I don't play video games for hours a day, so I would be happy to be in the middle. But I can't really do that. I don't really know what tier I'm in, only that the tier above me is full of players who are much better than me.

She looks hotter than the real Hillary.
So does a demon-possessed chipmunk.

So does a baby pigeon. It's... really not a high bar to clear.

The SBMM is the main reason why I tend to stick with the older CoDs; it really feels like the newer games have REALLY bad SBMM in comparison to the older ones. Granted, that's not entirely accurate; Advanced Warfare still has bad SBMM, as do BO3 and 4. Ghosts, Infinite Warfare, and WWII felt a bit more even. Couldn't get enough matches with MWR to confirm.

What game modes are popular with MW2019 now? Are there cheaters scattered around? Something I loved about MW2019 is the sound design incorporated within the UI. Menu pings and indicators sound military grade. Announcers were appropriately well-acted given that CoD adapted a more serious approach. I know they weren't as bombastic as the MW2 announcers, but that was the point.

Hard point, TDM, Domination, and KC were still populated. Think I'm going back to bot matches, though.

Most annoying weapon camo challenge so far in MWIII has to be obtaining ten bullet penetration kills with an LMG. (Well, any challenge that requires bullet penetration.) It's hard to tell what surfaces and props can be shot through, and what maps HAVE shootable terrain.

You can shoot through chain link fences. Scrapyard with the warehouse on the side has a sightline where you CAN cheese that fence. War Mode is more consistent with bullet penetration kills as the majority of the map has weak material to shoot through and everybody spawns/flows through a set path.

In MW2019, most things can be shot through with FMJ. Is that not true any more?

From my experience, no. At least on the base maps. The remade MW2 maps have more "wall bang" opportunities in comparison.

Meanwhile, everybody is hating on Warzone because of its cheater problem. I hated Warzone since its inception. There's nothing fun about roaming a massive map where players can exploit movement and deploy with massively OP weapon builds. Isn't the point of battle royale is to survive with what is provided on the battlefield?

Time really is a circle for these clickbait faggots. They've said the exact same shit since 2009 and said "dying franchises" they always talk about are still around and kicking for many more years to come.
There has to come a point of time where people who just make all these videos about cod need to realize it does NOTHING how much of these videos have hundreds of thousands of views? Some reach millions and some how COD is still on top. Yet it does nothing? Im not saying to not complain about COD but sometimes channels make it their entire personality it gets kind of annoying. It gets kind of mind numbing like I said before on kiwi youtube videos are just made for confirmation bias to just be confirmed. However, there are just entire channels who exist to complain about cod and have been doing it for like 10 years? Whenever you tell them to play another game they just block you.

Got a couple of questions for everyone here:

First off, do you guys suggest Advanced Warfare or Infinite Warfare overall? Both games are on sale for the next few days, and I was thinking about grabbing one of the two; I've played them both before, but my thoughts are... mixed. Infinite Warfare is a solid game overall, and if you want access to the various supply drop guns you can easily do a few glitches in Zombies to get a ton of keys; that said, some of the later maps in both Multiplayer and Zombies are pretty crap, and I often couldn't even find a match last few times I had IW. Conversely, I haven't done much with AW on PS4/5; I do know the SBMM is still active and surprisingly brutal, and getting supply drops is a PAIN, but I also didn't play nearly as much compared to IW nor haven't ever touched the DLC stuff for the game on PS4/5. I am a bit interested in both, but... which of the two do you guys think?

Also, in honor of it being 115 day; what's your favorite Zombie map? Mine's Mob of the Dead.

Kino, mainly for the nostalgia. First map I ever played, and I have some great memories playing this map with friends til like 3 in the morning. It was between Kino and Zetsubou. I know a lot of people didn’t like the latter but I loved the setting and experimenting with the plants.
